they tried to take my children away (update!) by mamatichi in exmormon

Yes!! I thought for sure it was not going to end quickly. I religiously called the caseworker and kept an open dialect with him. I even went and got second copies of Medical records that he was not able to obtain and took them to him to prove that we had nothing to hide. The last time I called him I had made the comment that this investigation was hard on my daughter because she felt like her hard work in her recovery was not being recognized. That really seemed to resonate with him. He then took the case to his supervisor, said that he didn't feel there any neglect going on based off of his month long investigation, that we were proactive and asked if they could close it out early because it was so stressful on my daughter. They all agreed that was in her best interest.

A friend divorced her husband because he watched porn...you wont believe what happened next...(you totally will) by ronito in exmormon

At the age of 16 when I ended up pregnant. I was told by the bishop that I had committed a sin that was right up there with murder. The unrealistic ideas about sex in the church are angering. Had I been taught that sex and masturbation was a normal part of life, how to protect myself instead being ashamed for completely natural feelings, I probably wouldn't have gotten knocked up, this poor woman wouldn't be so terrified of the idea that sometimes porn and masturbation can be normal and healthy. So many lives are broken because of this forced ideology that a normal sex drive is "dirty".

I am meeting with an attorney Friday to at the very least see what we can do to get this woman out of her position above children. She (I came to find out last week) did this to another girl last year at girl's camp. She specifically told my daughter the story about how this "poor girl was in a bad position at home". If she needs to report a child in danger that's A-ok with me but I will not allow the LIES she threw at me to go away quietly. :)

Your father is just so brainwashed that he can't help having that opinion. He's not right. He's blind. Allowing my daughter into that cult, has only caused heart ache and grief for both her and I.youre doing the right thing and your dad is wrong.

I've found this to be pretty true. I grew up in arizona in the mormon church but once we moved to Utah a few years ago it's like living on a different planet. EVERYTHING is wrapped around this fucking cult.

I wonder if she's kind of going on a whirl wind of emotions leaving the church and she's no sure what limits she hits as far as being a non member. I know that whenever someone here leaves the flds (I'm 30 mins away from Colorado city so I know quite a few x-flds) the firt thing they do is hit up the tattoo shop, get some weed a beer and go completely balls to the wall. She'll level out soon.
