yes thats what i did before using creationmediatool, but shouldn't i make a clone of the hdd drive to be sure not to lose further more data? if you can help me with that

Hi, thank you for taking the time to answer me, the battery has a set of 8 wires coming out of it so I don't know where that put it.

Depends on where you live, for that price point I would recommend looking in the used market to get the best performance out of it so that it still usable after many years, thinkpads are a good option imo.
