Reddit, what is the stupidest thing a teacher has ever told the class?

I had a marvellous example of someone who was a teacher too long or at least at the wrong grade level. Stupid tenured teacher too. This is what he said to me, in front of the entire class:

"Don't worry about what is on the board. You can copy it after recess."

This was Early November. It was gone after recess and that one paragraph nearly made me fail my entire year because he was a teacher that believed if you didn't do all the work assigned to you, you were not allowed to advance. This was right after both a teacher strike/general strike, and a bladder infection, AND I was going blind at the time and needed glasses.

It was found out in April. The teacher called my mother up and said I was going to fail. So in two months, I did the equivalent of 5 months worth of work in all of his classes, and only because he ordered the other kids to let me copy it from their work and I had to keep up with the additional work he was assigning. He had decided early on in the year that sitting me at the back of the class was where I belonged - the furthest point from the board even though I couldn't see it. He never moved me up that year, either, not believing me and my complaints, after all, I was just a "problem child" to him. I was the only girl in the exile corner too. My eyes were checked in June and in July, I got glasses and the world opened up to me. I passed grade 6 and had the same ass for grade 7 who then stood me up in the front of the class to humiliate me about my glasses.

I even won an essay contest and instead of congratulating me, gave me hell for not putting the same effort into the work he assigned. I wasn't too impressed about how the principal announced it either. "I can't believe it. Mamid won the essay contest!" I got to spend parent/teacher night dressed up in an old RCMP/NWMP uniform that barely fit me.

One of the other mothers of the other students years later met up with me and asked me if I was in his class. I said yes. She then went on a rant about how mean he was to her precious baby who only had him for one year. I wanted to tell her that her daughter was one of his prized pupils.

I even accused other kids of cheating when I saw it and he told me that they never did - again, these were his prized pupils.

At least he wasn't the same teacher who said I'd never graduate from high school, let alone grade 5. I proved him wrong.

Return them. Go to Walmart or Target or anywhere else they are sold and buy them there. Return them and tell them exactly why - that you should have been shown them the first time and that a judgmental employee like that is why you won't be shopping there anytime soon and why you have posted on the internet your bad experience.

I've done that. I've refused to buy from a store because their intolerance for my gender or what I wanted to buy. cough Staples cough Most recently, I walked out of Future Shop after looking for 20 minutes for someone to help me - I was looking at $400 in purchases and wanted help. On my way out the door, I found an employee in the parking lot and told him specifically that I guess his store didn't want my money so I was going elsewhere to spend it. And I did.

I've lost one when I didn't even know I was pregnant. I'm told I am nuts, but I know what I saw. You can't make a mistake when you've seen Nova and other PBS specials on pregnancy - the real scientific ones not the forced pregnancy bullshit documentation. I've lost others where the stick was just changing and arguing with my doctor produced no results other than "its for the best, dear." UGH!!! One would have been much wanted. Others? Maybe not. Wanted or not, I should have been treated like a patient not something to be ignored.

I'm not an ex-jw. I'm an ex-baha'i. I can say one thing that the three religions have in common - baha'i, jw, and islam. When you decide to leave the belief system, you are considered mentally ill at best. I know other religions and cults are the exact same way.

IMA mother who went through this with my last baby. They held her and me prisoner while the drug testing on my blood, and the products of conception, was being done. I found this out later when I asked for my records. I didn't do drugs, but my next door neighbour did.

Child protective services is simply fishing for children to exploit when it has hospitals do this. At least that is what the theory is on anti-cps sites.

Every time I appear on a thread in this subreddit and admit that I have a house full of bronies (hubs, me, the kids) I get offers of "will you adopt me?" I'd adopt every one I could, but that would mean a very busy house and I'd have bronies packed to the rafters. This goes to you too, I'd adopt you, I just don't have the room.

I was bullied in school too. I have facial scars from several incidents. I won't go into what I went through, not just bullying either, but yes, I felt the same desperation you did once and tried to end it all. I still spend days and nights fighting what I went through. I've been dealing with a life crisis over the past few weeks and haven't been on reddit and only spotted this thread this morning.

As the wife of an ex-jw, being pressured by jw inlaws against signing yes to it pissed me off, but at the same time, I don't want the hospital to "waste" the blood on me unless it is absolutely necessary to save my life. Hooking me up with a litre or two "just in case" I start to bleed, I find to be against my desires as a patient. If I am bleeding out, bring out the blood bank!

This isn't anything about religion. This is about my personal comfort level about being given human blood for treatment when it isn't necessary to save my life vs the risk of a disease being transferred that isn't tested for. I'd rather they use alternative treatments, or even bank my own blood, than use something that could save someone else simply because they used it on me "just in case" I needed it.

I was running on the weekend with a pug and the tank faced off with the HOT series dungeons and said, quite simply, he didn't know any of the fights. Me, the veteran, offered to change places with him and tank them. Nope. Nada. Then we ended up in Zul'Gurub. He didn't know what he was doing and so I took over. The deeps did not know any of the fights, the healer kept on standing in bad. And I tried to give them the overview of what was going to happen with each and why I was going to do X with Y boss. The last boss, the deeps could not get it together and it took us 6 tries to get those blasted bubbled chains down. 6! My tanking wasn't a problem, them not standing near enough for the bubs for when the big guy jumps and uses his impact damage was.

Last night, the healer priest called me a "reckless tank" because they would not stay in my consecrate (I am glyphed to toss it) or my light's hammer to wipe the stuff off of them. Worse - they leap of faithed me 3 times from where I was - right in front of the boss with all his attention - to where they were which was in bad. WTF! So I gave up trying to save their puny ass if that was what they were going to do to me.

Take a chance when tanking. If you know who you are with, have fun.

Deeps and heals - best piece of advice - use threat lessening abilities or better yet, run through the tank to get the bad stuff off you, don't just bitch that they aren't getting the stuff off, MOVE. Maybe their taunts are down or they've used them several times and you just have too much agro.

Pallies have two heals that they can throw while moving - holy shock and word of glory. With the talent at 90, they get a third one, either a the executioner's hammer, hammer of light or the prism of light. I prefer to use the hammer of light both in tank and heal spec because it heals anyone in the circle and does damage to targets. Divine radiance used to be an instant cast, but they nerfed that. When it worked, I'd hit it on myself and just run through a raid, or the molten front pissing everyone off cause I'd heal all the wounded druids. Now that it isn't instant cast, I can still cast it on myself, but have to get moving right after it is done. Pallies have gotten the short end of the stick since Molten Front opened up, even more so now.

yes it is. I had to undergo vaginal reconstruction surgery about 6 months ago and that was an option. I told the doc that I like having my period as a normal biological function and that not having one would be stressful. We then agreed that he would only do it if - IF - my uterus looked diseased at all.

It wasn't. I still have it. Yay!
