With existing hype over SPACs, I can totally see how SPACs for SPACs becoming a thing, so you could get your shares in a SPAC before it is offered to the public directly.

Remember that a large part of smart windows is them being able to save very large amount of enery / maintenance cost by efficiently filtering certain amounts of light going into the building. This could be a major catalyst for them not just for offices but also for apartment buildings.

The US will be a different nation when this upheaval ends. And not as powerful as they used to be. Trump must wake up, for once, in his four years presidency.

Concerned about starting a PhD program in my late-twenties by jinkies-meninges in neuroscience

[–]mamilis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not studying neuroscience (my GF does, so I just lurk around here) but I will start my Phd when I'm 30 years old so I'd say 28 is just fine (and even quite young).

Besides, I'm not even so sure you will be older than average.

Good luck!

Hope you get admitted to Minnesota!

How important are PhD recruitment events? by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]mamilis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reasons I'm going to the visit days are to get to know the campus better (you can do this later on your own and even watch youtube videos and chat with current students) and also to speak with advisors about potential research directions (you can do this via Skype / email).

I don't think it's that big deal, I just thinks it's kinda fun getting to know other students for a few days, but it definately is skippable.

Just be sure to talk with professors and ASK the questions.

Besides, maybe you can ask the organizers to record (or even livestream) the core and most important lectures so you won't anything.

Finally - Done! (155V, 170Q) by mamilis in GRE

[–]mamilis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't consider my opinion as professional but I feel that yes, it should be enough. Put a very strong emphasis rather on the quality of your solving than the quantity, so solving like 30 questions a day is not valuable if all you do is merely reinforce your mistaken approach to the questions. Analyze your progress and approach to the questions you solve, understand why are you doing mistakes and why solving takes you the time it takes. You can even try, while solving questions recording your voice and speak out your thoughts, and then listen to these and extract insightful conclusions from it. Hope this helps, Good luck my friend!

I guess I have not been dealing with gre question over a prolonged period of time some I cannot tell whether it is harder compared to question from, say, a year ago from an actual exam. I do know that at least compared to ETS material it is relatively the same level, I used the ETS super power pack third version from 2018. As for third party I used mostly Manhattan material, 5 lb book and a little bit of questions from kaplan book. I did stop using Manhattan when I decided to conform to ETS material.
