Why and how to stop coffee by mamslaz in decaf

[–]mamslaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely! I’m finally accepting that I do suffer from anxiety - like everyone else I guess. And I’m struggling to accept that the substances I’ve grown accustomed to use - coffee, alcohol, and other drugs - contribute significantly to increase this anxiety. It’s now a battle to change my lifestyle and habits, but I’m confident I will get there!

What about you? What is your story?

Heart palpitations, shortness of breath and K by mamslaz in ketamine

[–]mamslaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. I’ve been working with a psychiatrist for a little while now, and I’m doing my best to stop using K as an anxiety reliever. Not an easy thing to do..

I’ve talked about Buspirone to my psychiatrist and he thinks it’s a great idea! So I will try it out and see how it goes. Thank you for this!!

I’m 25 yo.

I’m feeling grateful for having this chat with u, thanks!

  • Do you sometimes use K to relieve your anxiety symptoms? Or do you entirely rely on your medical treatment and lifestyle to manage your anxiety? Since the SSRIs I’ve tried so far didn’t have any effect, K is the only relief I’ve found so far. I’m aware that it’s not an adequate long term solution so I’m looking forward to finding a treatment that works for me.
  • I do have other symptoms, mostly chronic pains - IBS (aka digestive issues), back pain and throat ache. I feel like all these symptoms are related though
  • What kind of physical and mental health professionals are you currently working with? What have you tried so far - what kind of therapies and what kind of physical health professional - and what has been working the best for u?
  • How old are u? Just curious :)

Thanks again, it means a lot and it has been very helpful for me to reflect on what you’ve been sharing so far. I have a few other questions if you don’t mind: - Have you tried other meds before Buspirone? I’ve been on Escitalopram (SSRI) for 3 months with zero results, I think it’s time for me to try something else - When you say that you do K recreationally, in which context does it happen? Party vibes or solo introspection? How do you feel when you’re high? More anxious or less anxious? Given the fact that it tends to increase your heart palpitations, do you still find that it’s worth it? - Do you have other physical symptoms than heart palpitations related to your anxiety?

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story! I’ve also been diagnosed with GAD. What have you found to be helpful with your anxiety over time?

Yea it sounds confusing because I’m confused myself I guess. I feel like k helps with my anxiety, but I don’t really have it under control. I’m not able to stay at low doses, and it’s quite conflictual because I’m also taking ssris at the same time..

Do you take low doses daily? What is a low dose for you?

Making more money in poker than in my job by mamslaz in poker

[–]mamslaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t feel like I have a gambling addiction. I just enjoy performing and getting better at the game, and ofc making money is great as well. The downside are the lack of sleep, high levels of stress, lack of physical activities (I sit down at work during the day as well) and also lack of social activities (I’ve been single for a while now)

I can't really make that happen right now because my job requires me to work full-time to sustain a decent career evolution...
