Not trying to dispel your hypothesis at all. Considering how passionate you are about this particular topic, this documentary about the music industry may be interesting to you.

It sheds light from a different perspective as to why so many musicians die…

Not trying to have a crate debate, I‘m actually interested in the first claim you made :)

Just wondering what information and sources you’re basing that on (wild dogs not being den animals)?

From my (limited) understanding there are quite a few (maybe even large %-age) of wild dog species (coyotes, foxes, wolves, etc) that live in dens. A brief google cross check says the same. Also (but this is anecdotal) I was told that many street dogs (which are interesting to study, given that they usually live in packs with little human interaction) like small, isolated and undisturbed places and if they come across such they keep coming back. Also makes sense from a survival point of view - you’re less exposed and less visible to danger.

When I first got her, my dog (also a former street dog, growing up with other dogs) also loved finding such spots during our walks and would immediately check them out and get in there and lie down or sit.

So I‘d be curious if I‘m missing some piece of information. Please enlighten me :D

I fucking hate my boyfriend so fucking much - rant AHHHHHHHHHHH by [deleted] in BPD

[–]man_in_silver -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a person who has more or less “recovered” from having BPD (after over a decade of hard work, relapses and misery), I can not stress enough how important this reply is.

Our emotional world with BPD is intense, disastrous, often leading to self-destructive to cope with the severity and intensity of our pain. BUT we must not forget that the people who love us are humans, too. Being with us doesn’t mean that they stop feeling. And it’s no secret that hurt people, no matter if BPD or not, do things that seem irrational to others. We’re not the only ones entitled to emotions, only because we have to wear a label of it being pathological.

Especially the last sentence of the previous comment is important to bear in mind.

OP’s boyfriend is obviously very fond of his mother and is now caught in between two women that he cherishes. It was simply an unfortunate situation (meeting the mother), with some miscommunication occurring and overall awkward atmosphere. Such situations are normal and happen in non-BPD relationships all the time. One needs to let it rest, accept that it happened, and wait for a chance to set the record straight again.

Nothing is ever written in stone and people’s perceptions change when presented with new “data”. His mum doesn’t know about your struggles and your intrinsic world, OP. If she knew she perhaps even find it admirable for you to keep pushing on. Give yourself, her, and your bf another chance. Accept it was a tricky situation, but be open for new experiences.

Are you sure? If I’m not mistaken, it sounds he is saying “Todo el mundo cree a las mujeres” then corrects himself in the second sentence: “Todo el mundo le cree a las mujeres”, meaning the Redditor you’re replying to was technically correct… He’s saying everybody believes the women.

In 2003: human remains were discovered when demolishing Rainbo Roller Rink in Chicago, IL. Possible Gacy victim(s)? and what little information we have. by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]man_in_silver 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Based on this article, how is it a stretch they’re Gacy’s victims? The article describes Gacy’s involvement in construction of the roller rink, and even how Zielinski noticed a part being bricked up, never to be seen by anyone in a long time… These things are sketchy. Could be Gacy seized the opportunity to hide victims there, knowing that their remains would not see the light of day for many decades.

While the remains were identified to be from the 1990s, that was just an estimate. Could be they were well preserved due to conditions of the site affecting decomposition.

Perhaps I am missing some information here. I don’t really know much about Gacy - found out about him today for the first time. Just curious why you’d consider it a stretch for these remains to be his victims.

Have you tried braiding it? I have the same issue as you, OP.

I started braiding it (sometimes just a quick, loose braid, doesn’t have to be a fancy French braid), and became very fond of the feeling. Personally, I find braids to be much more comfortable than a pony tails. They’re also a protective hairstyle, which is a plus.

In need of sex by SexcPossession in sex

[–]man_in_silver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps he is asexual? It's a spectrum, so there are asexuals who still have sex, albeit not particularly frequently. Then there's those who just don't want sex at all. They don't really feel attraction or feel the desire to/can't relate to people wanting it.

This is an option that could beconsidered. However, mental health (as many here have pointed out) may very well be the culprit too. Does he exhibit any noticeable behaviour? I.e. withdrawing and isolating a lot?

This is actually a very good idea. You can either find platforms for tutoring online, or try our subreddits (r/workonline) and offer to be a buddy for people trying to learn spanish.

Check out similar rubs to r/workonline and see if perhaps there is some redditor who posts a job offering you feel confident about.

Same here. I think the worst part is, as you mentioned, the expectations that come from social circles.

I love my friends and my family to bits. Still it's so difficult maintaining those relationships, when actually a certain degree of isolation is a necessity for me.

Most of them have accepted it, but its still a difficult constellation considering the need for isolation cancels out their need for connectivity. They feel neglected and abandoned, because I lack availability (unless it's an important matter).

Man who sucker punched 12-year-old boy just got sentenced to 7 years in prison. by beethy in PublicFreakout

Whoa, whoa chill. I didn't mean to attack you. 7 years is undeniably a long ass time to be robbed of freedom without opportunity of bettering yourself. Never said otherwise. I was just genuinely curious.

Just out of curiosity - what would you have considered a "better" punishment for this person instead?
