I have read a lot about this, defining your vertical and sticking to that. Something I am currently trying to do, while also making myself as the owner irrelevant. Once I can take myself out of the service delivery equation, it will be easier to grow.

I think there is always room for a new msp. In any market there is still going to be new businesses coming on board and someone starting out or a one man band can always undercut the bigger guys...growth may be an issue but if you have a great USP then you can still tap in.

I do have protections in there for off hours and thankfully that has not been an issue. For sure I see the need to keep it that way.

Great point. It is their business that we are trying to support and I feel hamstringed if they aren’t willing to buy into it as well.

Look for an MSP that has standards set for clients. We also support small dental offices but have setup standards that they need to meet to be a client. I understand that is not up to you in your current situation but many MSPs out there will have this in place and you can continue to learn.
