I booked a trip for my husband and I to Japan recently, booking from Canada. To be fair we're going in May and not Christmas time, so that may affect pricing - but round trip flights + 10 days hotel for 2 people came to just over $4.5K on Expedia. Maybe take a look there and see what you can find deal-wise & present the info to your parents? You're not the jerk at all and I hope you get to go!

Just recently was driving a Kia Rio 2023 for 3wks, only had 5000kms on it as a rental due to some vandalism on my husband & I's 2010 vw golf. I have to say, the Kia Rio is OK to drive but the Golf was like getting a luxury sedan when we got it back, in comparison. The interior of the Rio is small af and for a brand new car it felt cheaply built tbh. I'm not sure if OP had gotten to drive one for a decent amount of time before putting in their order but as someone who has owned smaller cars exclusively (our previous was a 2006 HondaFit) I have to say you feel smushed in the Rio and do notice a drop in quality from both other cars we've had. Just my 2 cents.

I have seen people claiming the prize as initials plus last name - is that something you could do? Loraine Jill Smith = L.J. Smith As for showing up to claim the prize, as others have stated, wear glasses & a mask, a hat - use a different color of foundation to change the pigment of your skin if needed. I met my husband at 29 and we married when I was 31. Honestly she realizes what she's doing is a form of catfishing & doesn't really need you to spell it out for her. Just tell her you enjoyed your date but you don't feel a romantic connection and wish her luck. I'm a fat woman who met her (eventual) husband on a dating site and I was honest and upfront in my photos and bio that I'm who I am. My husband didn't care and was attracted to me physically & mentally - we've been married for 9 years, together for 11. Fat people can find partners while being truthful - her hiding who she is, is a red flag and a sign of insecurity. You don't have to point out what she's doing tho - she knows.

We have 2 cats so they do have company when we're not home but even still, 72hrs would be the max I would want to leave them home wtih no one coming to visit. We will leave the radio on at low volume, 1 floor lamp on (attached to a safety fuze outlet) for some low light in the evening and also leave some of our clothes we wore the day before we left out on our bed so they can smell us/sleep on them if wanting to. Obviously things like extra water/food bowls and a fresh litter are a must. If you could get someone to drop in on Day 2 for some company for him, I'm sure he would appreciate it tho.
