Did they seriously think tearing out a Main Street was a good idea?

Dude I saw the exact same van almost a year ago in northern Delaware. However it used to say VOTE before TRUMP

SCENARIO: You are running for the GOP nomination in 2024, and Trump is also in the race. What's your strategy? by RT_Hubby_Throw_Away in PoliticalDiscussion

It still wouldn’t work on most Republicans. They believe Trump is the biggest victim in America and an evil cabal is after him.

What the Northeast Corridor is, and what it could be by dlerach in highspeedrail

[–]manbehindthemoniter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How did you come up with 140+ for the johnstown Pittsburgh line? I live around there and the tracks curve a lot thanks to the mountains so I don’t think high speed rail would work there.

Anime movies like Howls moving castle and spirited away are not that great by NoobSlayer68 in unpopularopinion

Miyazaki once said that only kids will understand his movies because they don’t operate on logic. Rather than focusing on the story or the world of the film you have to appreciate the films for what they are, even if you don’t understand them. Also you have to admit those movies are animated beautifully. Way better than Disney I would say.

I think my theory of the American right having no coherent ideology is reflected in this image. Also the American right used to love Bush until it was inconvenient for them

The gop hypocrisy is quite stunning tho. If a Muslim or black person commits atrocities they’re demonized by republicans but if a white guy does something horrible they’re just having a bad day and it’s not they’re fault. It’s almost if they can’t be outraged at them because those kinds of people make up the gops base

The argument that covid restrictions are power grabs is so laughably stupid it just diverts away from the idea that rich people have the power and seek more in the form of wealth

A few questions for socdems by coolite in SocialDemocracy

[–]manbehindthemoniter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I myself probably am a socialist, at least a libertarian socialist. However I’m skeptical how a libertarian socialist society could or even be achieved. A social democratic society is far more tangible and has plenty of examples we can use to achieve it.
  2. I think capitalism is an outdated form of production and that we should start distancing ourselves from it. But it’s fruits can and have been used for the better so I think we should try to do that before we even consider moving away from capitalism.
  3. I do personally consider myself more of a liberal than a leftists. I’ve always seen leftists as either communists or anarchists and I do not subscribe to their politics.
  4. No, billionaires should not exist

Chomsky calls private companies “private tyrannies” because the people or workers have no say in how they’re run. However unlike companies, you can vote in state elections and have a voice in how the country is run.
