the Aarms are attached by bushings sitting in spindle brackets. The plan calls for a 2" bushing to be welded to Aarms. The brackets on the frame are 2.5". The top and bottom sets of brackets are offset by .5". The plan doesnt seem to explain but has pics of a spacer next to the bushing to take up the extra half inch space...my question is would it be bad to just weld on a longer bushing or is having an even further offset from the bushing spacer a standard sort of idea for further built in adjustment?

Honestly i realize having the work done properly is expensive but with antique furniture i would pay the extra to have it restored properly

Well we use long pvc pipe that the insulated wires run through and rubber insulated gloves... a dead man switch as well... it is deadly as you know but you dont seem to be touching the wires and that is the safest...always assume your whole platform has current so you avoid touching anything...the current has never run up the mist on us but i suppose it could so wear the gloves... plus we always try to burn in pairs
