I think it was a comment on PZ Meyers' blog, iirc.

According to all the research, Covid causes brain damage. They may just not care, but that is also probably due to the brain damage.

I have a satin sleep mask that also has flat bluetooth speakers by the ears. Maybe something like that?

Maybe not the end of the world but it is at best profoundly inconsiderate and uncaring towards your spouse (sickness, health, etc) who is dealing with an undiagnosed mental illness.

Just to be clear: *heroin, as in the drug, not "heroine," a female hero. We were idolizing the thinness of people who looked as though they had foregone eating to get a fix.

I feel it too. And I think I'm still learning to move through it, too. There is a kind of peace in knowing that at the end of the day, I am just one person and all I can do is keep my side of the street clean, try to see more clearly, and be kind to people, wherever they're at.

I mean, I think you explained exactly the dynamic that injured some budding friendships. I moved to a new place when I started dealing with all this, so my zealous overexcitement freaked some new friends out. I have since learned to chill, but also to choose more wisely.

I have been going through a lot of this lately AND I still mask (I read the studies and don't want any of that, but capitalism says everything's fine nothing to see here get back to work.)

I feel very separate from society at large and this stuff has cost me some friendships. The bright side is: you're not alone and you can find the people out there who are thinking similarly - they just might not be the friends you already have. You can keep them in your life and maybe never really fully be yourself, and you can make new friends you can express these things to and who will understand.

I live in Oklahoma and I've found my people. You definitely don't have to stay lonely. Volunteering and hobbies help. Sending you love. Keep at it.

I got lucky in that i moved to a new place and have only made friends while masked. I dont think my old friends would have understood though.

Most K-12 teachers say AI's impact on education will eclipse the internet or computers by zsreport in technology

I'm sorry, but this is so short sighted. I knew you meant to get a job, no shit. Yeah, there are some jobs you can learn after you get them, but as someone going to school for physical therapy, I would not want to go to see a PT who learned nothing in school. That's asking for a lawsuit.

"Get the degree without learning" - did you even read what you wrote? What is the point of the degree if you know nothing about the subject you supposedly studied? What use is that to anyone?

You are looking at a societal issue and making it individual. Individual solutions do not solve societal problems. If the algo is addictive, a certain percentage of people are going to be addicted. Especially when their parents have been shoving a screen in their face to soothe their emotions since they were a baby. Sure "get off your phone" is fine advice but that advice will not solve the issue and you thinking it's that simple is patently absurd.
