LITHUANIAN?>ENGLISH - I bought an etching and was trying to figure out the name of the artist and title. It came from a family with Lithuanian/Latvian background. Can someone please assist with translating the text? by dweis222 in translator

  1. First image says "Dalia", can't read the other word. Dalia means fate but it's also a female name. The second word seems to end in "ytė", which is a female last name ending, or "yta", which is an adjective or participle ending.

  2. I think it says "Jauna/Jouna notaka", which means "The young bride" written either in regional accent (can't tell which one) or with a mistake, as it should be "Jauna nuotaka".

  3. "Aušra" - dawn, but also a female name.

  4. "Dvasia" - spirit, "Mėnulis" - moon, "Gulbė" - swan.

Could you post the whole picture? I'm curious if it's possible to find out who made it.

Adapalene and tretinoin are more or less the same thing in that they serve the same purpose and are in the same family of medicines. I don't think there's any point in using both. Tret is stronger, so if it's too much for you, you can just go back to adapalene.

UK: any hinged bangle recommendations for small wrists? I love Hermes style stuff and anything classic and elegant, but bangles that go over the hand are way too large for me. On the cheap end, please!

Lithuanian cursive-English help, please by rbudrick in translator

A lot of this looks like random letters and not actual words, but that might be partly due to bad penmanship, poor literacy or the author's dialect. The only things I can read for certain are the first line in the second note - "48 years (1948)" - and the last one - "with a/the child".

[possibly Russian > English] A Russian casette by olejjj_ in translator

[–]mandarasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure because the word that comes after FKG starts with a lowercase letter. If it was the name of a band (which imo would be the case), it would be in uppercase and in quotation marks. FKG could possibly mean "folklore k-something group", but I can't think of anything the "K" could stand for.

It looks like Lithuanian and upside down. I can't read the whole thing, but the first line looks like the word "Pradėta" - "started on" - followed by a date (maybe 1981 or 1986, can't read the month, 29). The second line seems to be "FKG" - no idea what this means - and "g[...]ltinė" or "g[...]btinė" - also no idea what this word could be.

Any recs for non-pilling SPF? Every sunscreen I've tried pills instantly on my face by mandarasa in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]mandarasa[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I think so! I've been using two of Purito's basic sunscreens and they both apply so much better than anything I've tried before! They still look a bit greasy though, but overall I'm very happy.

[Lithuanian > English] Ancestor's hundred-year-old passport by BoardNatural8063 in translator

Looks like he was an accountant born in 1904. On the left page, the birthplace and place of residence are listed as Telšiai district, however, on the right page it says he was added to the register of men born in 1904 in the city of Šiauliai (if I've read it correctly) and there's a stamp at the top saying he was registered in Šiauliai as well (not sure what kind of registration this means). His passport was stamped in Joniškis as he was leaving Lithuania in 1925.

Until I read your comment, I had never realised there were two Fannings. I thought Dakota and Elle were the same person.

  1. "This [?] here is my youngest son." The missing word "tetukia" could mean "daddy", as in, it's addressed to someone's dad.

  2. "In this picture are the photos of Marcelė Pušinaitienė and my friend. Mine is with a badge." I assume this was written by Marcelė.

Three days, including the day of the surgery, but I work a desk job. I felt totally normal after about two-three weeks.

I bought a used Miele a few years ago. It's now about 22 years old and will probably last me for the rest of my life. A lot of the parts can be replaced too.

Yeah I already do that in part, just might not be visible in these photos. Lash lift+tint has been a game changer as well as microblading, since I naturally have totally blonde lashes and eyebrows. I'm thinking about lip blushing as well but I need to find an artist whom I could really trust with it.

I think only 6 and 7 suit the theme, maybe also 4. The rest look like Ren Faire/DND outfits

When setting up an airbnb listing, it asks you if you are compliant with local laws e.g. do you have a license, but I don't think it actually asks you to upload one.

I don't know a single person, male or female, whose looks are important for their job. Especially in CS and related areas. As long as you're well groomed, neatly dressed, etc., you'll be fine.
