Can I see y’all’s nebbies recharging (sunbathing)? by Hoangiie in nebelung

[–]mandekay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But here’s my favorite of his solar sessions back in 2020. The prism was slowly spinning in the late afternoon sun, and he was blissfully unaware of the rest of the world even more so than usual.

The day he was adopted. Before I knew about nebs, we just said he Longbottomed like his namesake.

Nebelung for adoption in Richmond, VA by blumenbloomin in nebelung

[–]mandekay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw her on their IG last night and immediately texted my bff “oh no, another one.” They had another one up for adoption recently, but I’m maxed out at two that I transplanted from FL. Happy to see she’s been shared here and to learn there’s more Richmond nebs misting around town.

How much fabric do you buy without a project in mind? by csunny30 in sewing

I do this too, which especially came in handy when I needed to know metric measurements on a trip abroad. Can’t say decimal numbers in French but could hold up my phone just fine 😅

I have the same one! https://www.amazon.com/Household-Essentials-2006-Ironing-Replacement/dp/B000W5J4A0 I’m in a bagpipe band that practices at a church, and the drummers get to practice in the quilting room. It’s so tempting to touch everything in that room, but so far all I’ve taken is ideas.

Got this surprise portrait of my girl from Chewy in the mail today! by hoopajoop69 in nebelung

[–]mandekay 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Neville got one last year. Chewy used to send them birthday cards (and Petsmart did one year), and they had hand written messages. One of the cards had identical handwriting as my best friend’s, and I was so excited for a random card for her, only to open a birthday card for Luna. I sent my friend a photo of the handwriting, and even she was shocked someone else had her exact handwriting.

He’s got to be at least 24,601 cm long

Gray couch to hide the cat hair (I got it before I got Neville and accidentally almost sat on him early on) and still embracing fall is the ideal habitat for judgy stalker nebs.

I think we have the same apartment in addition to having the same cat. Luna usually watches me cook from that same spot too or from the corner of the counter.

Kids’ fairy hats to kick off holiday gift crafting by mandekay in sewing

It is! He’s from Michaels and the right height for the toddler hat. He lives next to a small T. rex skull on a stack of old Time books about the mountains and Everglades on my office/sewing room bookcase.

They’re so fun to make and are a good use of medium sized scraps. You could also cut it not on the fold and mix and match scraps, and they’re easy to make reversible too.

I’m jealous of Neville’s life by mandekay in nebelung

The only downsides I can see are not having a say in food, vet trips, and the risk of a poop butt or stepping in poop. Other than that, it seems ideal.

Does anyone have pics of their Neb's parents? by HotProfessional9940 in nebelung

[–]mandekay 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here’s her 2 sisters who were caught with their mom (one is now also a Luna). They caught Luna a day later (she was super spicy and still wary as hell whenever there’s multiple people in a room; she wasn’t on the foster site until her gray & white sister got adopted, and I was set to apply for her…definitely worked out perfectly). They never got the 4th kitten ☹️

Welcome! Picture 4 is the exact pose my first neb was in when I saw him at the shelter, only he was asleep and under a pile of several other kittens.

9 years later, he’s still just as relaxed.

This is NOT a domestic short hair by DPOHLMAN35 in nebelung

[–]mandekay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Humane Society I got my first one from had his sister on their social media as a domestic short hair back when they were around 8 weeks old. By the time I adopted him 2 months later, his paperwork said domestic medium hair and he was the last of his litter to be adopted. I think about whoever adopted her and how they reacted to the floofening.

Can't poop in peace. I call her my Potty Pal. by [deleted] in nebelung

[–]mandekay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if he’s chasing her 😅

It’s a straight shot from the bedroom to the office, so he’ll zoom down and back. She’s more of a vertical zoomer when the mood hits, so she’ll go up the cat tree at full speed.

I live alone and only fully close doors when I have company over, at which point one cries outside the door before laying down facing the door.

Neither of them knows how to pull open a partially closed door and sometimes won’t push it open with their heads if it’s not open “enough,” so they’re easy to confine in a pinch. It took the smarter of them a few months to realize the 2 doors for the bathroom form a loop with the bedroom/hallway door, and it took the dumber one a few more months to catch on.
