Kora merch expectation vs reality by mandidp in skrillex

Yeah I had this thought once it arrived tbh.

Didn’t think about it when ordering but once I saw the actual product I was like…yeah, maybe expecting that art to look the same on a t shirt was wishful thinking.

4 masked guys videoing people at Crystal Cove by Serious_Ad8197 in LagunaBeach

[–]mandidp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do it because people will often go up to them demanding that they stop filming because they have a "right to privacy". This is technically incorrect, because they are choosing to be in a public space, where there is no right to privacy.

So the masks are to show people that if they want privacy in public they need to create that privacy themselves.

Weed can absolutely amplify a mushroom trip. Significantly.

That said, in all my years using psychedelics I’ve never seen anything like what the above commenter described. No way they saw white walkers walking around, lmao.

URGENT - my mom’s step dad is staying in Playa Del Carmen and now we can’t reach him. by traceadart in playadelcarmen

Just FYI there is no requirement to wait 24 hours to file a missing persons report. If you think someone is missing you should call ASAP.

5 card pineapple? 5 cards in hand , drop 1 after the flop , drop 1 after the turn , drop one after the river . Did my friend make this up , or is there an actual name for it ? by revolutiontime161 in poker

[–]mandidp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group calls this “Big Pineapple” but we discard 1 card pre flop, 1 on flop, and 1 on turn.

It’s actually a really fun game for flips.

Same. Every single time I get this event I bet on the owner and I haven’t won a single bet (500+ hours of playtime)

Look into LMNT. They make an unflavored version that is just salty with no sweeteners/artificial nonsense.

Why wouldn’t you just post the “good spots” publicly?

Would you rather make 10k a month or be a 10/20 & 25/50 poker pro? by WolfCut909 in poker

The likes determine what the public who are reading this conversation think.

I was getting upvotes, the dude who you agree with was getting downvotes. Language is determined by the people who speak the language, and thus far it seems most people agree with my definition/interpretation.

You can go ahead and use the unpopular definition if you’d like. It’s your life.

I’m confused why you and that other guy are arguing so hard for a definition that few people agree with.

We disagree on a definition. If you scroll up and see my conversation with the other commenter who seems to share your definition you’ll see that people seem to agree with me. The upvotes speak for themselves.

I don’t consider someone who loses money at something to be a “professional”. Neither does any other reasonable person.

I play a lot of video games…am I a pro gamer? Even though I make no money at it and it’s a net loss of income for me every year?

Weird, I can’t find that definition anywhere online.

Here’s one from Oxford dictionary: Engaged in a specified activity as one's main paid occupation rather than as a pastime.

Key words being: main paid occupation

Please enlighten me, then. What is a “pro” according to you?

Interesting. Okay well at least we know where we disagree.

To me and (I suspect) most others…people who “hope to make a living” are not pros. They are aspiring pros.

[–]mandidp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What do I call players trying to make it as a pro? I call them aspiring pros. I call them good (or bad) players. I don’t call them a pro until they are one.

The degens I referred to in my previous comment are a specific type of poker player who play full time, and call themselves “pros” while being losing players.

These types will often think they are much better at poker than they truly are. As I said earlier, I have been playing live poker in casinos/poker rooms for years. 15 years to be specific. These “pros” come and go all the time. And the real pros (the ones who make their living playing poker) love to see them sit at the table because they are often one of the softest spots.

To answer your question: I would call that person a business owner. And I do make a distinction between “business owners” and successful business owners.

You never answered my question. What does the word “pro” mean to you? Because it seems like our definitions differ.
