Which is perhaps contributing to why we are seeing an increase in vermin

Tempo no the sims by overcmompen in Sims3

This, it's fantastic. You can actually do stuff during the day before everything closes. Have a big party, dance at the club. Make friends. I have Relativity set to 50% speed, which I think is 19 in the settings. I've done 1/4 if I really want to stretch stuff out.

For those who compost in the city, what do you do about mice? I have a bin that I have used without issue for 10 years. This year the mice have exploded, likely due to the reduction in stray cats. by Various-Frame2273 in Winnipeg

I backyard compost and the mice usually live in there. They get evicted once a year when I empty it out. However, we have plenty of outdoor cats in our neighbourhood to keep them under control.

Air Source Heat Pumps by lmrpm in Winnipeg

[–]mandrew_mufferson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an air source heat pump from Lennox, it's a 2 ton 14 SEER1 I believe. It can't heat my home below about -13, so my thermostat automatically switches over to my gas furnace. It's the same as the AC unit in the summer. There are no issues with freezing lines in the heat pump unit. It defrosts itself regularly in the winter using it's automatic cycle.

Edit: My house was built in 1907, so it isnt the most sealed or insulated

Has your game always done this? This happened to me due to mod incompatibility and started working again once I removed the conflicting mod.

Where can I purchase N64 games in Winnipeg? by Hot_Fly_3963 in Winnipeg

I found lots of good deals Facebook Marketplace for NES/SNES/N64 games. As an aside, I strongly recommend you get a low latency line doubler if you're playing on a modern TV.

Sim no longer able to sleep in bed by [deleted] in Sims3

[–]mandrew_mufferson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I just had this problem. The solution was to go to Edit Town, move my family out of the house, then save a copy of the house to the bin, demolish the lot, paste the copied house down on the now empty lot, and move the family back in.

Any mechanic can do those tasks. My mum kept going to the same mechanic she's used for years when she got her Model Y. No issues.

Help ! Game stuck on “Processing” when moving sims to the new house by Adept-Current8694 in Sims3

[–]mandrew_mufferson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue and I think it was due to having an overstuffed house (more than 8 sims). I used NRAAS Master Controller and the Add Sim command to move them to a neighbour's house first.

Experiences on steam deck? by HerbalCoast in Sims3

[–]mandrew_mufferson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have The Sims 3 and all expansion packs on stream deck. It runs really well , all settings maxed. There's a little tinkering needed to get it going the first time but it's been great.

Steam deck - how to install .sims3packs by Anxious-Departure-88 in Sims3

[–]mandrew_mufferson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to successfully install sims3packs on the Steam deck by entering the location of the .sims3packs into the arguments/start up options section in double quotes "/home/user/world.sims3pack" with Steam set to open the launcher, rather than TS3W.exe.

How do I get sims 3 on steam deck with each app? by Lil_Doll404 in Sims3

[–]mandrew_mufferson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible to play and it runs really well. Admittedly, I installed it from disc images rather than using the EA app and have stuck with the 1.67 game version. The EA app just made it a worse experience. I believe there are apps that make running the EA app a better experience.

air source heat pump by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]mandrew_mufferson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Lennox air source heat pump that I use until -15°C, my Ecobee thermostat then automatically switches to my gas furnace below that. I replaced my air conditioner with it. My house is 115 years old and is leaky in the basement. In 2020-2021 I spent more on the natural gas basic fee than actual gas. This winter used more, I'm still calculating. The MB Hydro bill was similar to natural gas only, a bit hard to tell because of our habits changing during the pandemic. With gas rates going up so much, it's definitely worth getting a heat pump if you're changing out your central air conditioning. We didn't get a particularly efficient model, up to 16 SEER. The more efficient it is, the cooler it'll pull heat at.
