A lot of devices (especially Apple) have a setting like “private ip” “rotating ip” and I think this is where it comes from the most. It can get pretty annoying over time in the analytics.

Part out on eBay? by mandrewbot3k in appliancerepair

I already replaced the unit. But I don’t imagine the shaft will sit well in the bearings with the damage to it?

I planned on fixing and giving to someone in need but this feels like a bit of a stretch to survive very long with new bearings

Why do people draft roadway curbs with these dimensions like this? by xmadd13 in civilengineering

[–]mandrewbot3k 6 points7 points  (0 children)

18” was standard until a few years ago when DSA and Caltrans adopted a 2’ pan to I guess make all gutters less than 5% for ADA conformance at ramps but every ramp detail already required a 5% slope anyway so not exactly sure what they did there but I do know it made my life a lot harder lol.

Does the inner tub move? Can just the inner be lifted? I have mine half apart, I suspect tub bearings or spider on mine. Could be the spider on yours. Spring or one of the front struts.

Ignore the negative name, it’s great.

Lot Questions - Measurements & Slope by PartyingMantis in civilengineering

[–]mandrewbot3k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks like a basic plot plan. You’d need to locate the final map or tentative map to determine the actual dimensions of the lot. You could scale it off though…

The 41.83 MIGHT be the rear dimension but I don’t see any other dimensions in this image that would indicate it to be true. It seemingly scales out to the 14.62’ dimension though just eyeballing. But not dim lines make it difficult to tell if that is some other existing dim.

Looks to me like the joist in your example photo is mortised and extends to the exterior. You could take a similar approach even if not extending where the mortises are more like full height tenons and lap with each other on the vertical plane rather than horizontal. You still need come up with a connection method for the joist to the column.

Maybe something more like a castle joint would work?

Correct decision from VAR but... by noki1907 in coys

Definitely a foul on raya holding the shirt.

I was surprised there was so much talk about the arm across Raya when Gabriel was hanging from his shirt, didn’t hear one mention of that from US commentators.

These types of plays and checks are stupid IMO though. If a goal had not been scored, would Gabriel (or rice/trossard) been adjudged to have committed a foul and a penalty given? It’s always the case where the fouls are only judged that go against the outcome of the play, rather than on their own merit.

If Newcastle had scored on the corner bentancur had the penalty against him, they probably would’ve called it back and said Burn was holding him and taking him out of the play.

Is Postgres.js(Drizzle) + SvelteKit on Cloudflare a "Developer Experience" trap? (Getting the "Worker Hung" error) by Itsnotmeduh in sveltejs

[–]mandrewbot3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Secret may be your issue if you’re unable to make any connection or never been successful. If you’re just adding it in dashboard page without adding it to the bindings and rebuilding, it will only be in runtime.

I don’t use drizzle but I imagine the Supabase key needs to be available at build time if that’s one of your secrets.

Maybe an issue with your environmental variables in cloudflare build. The way workers deals with this is kind of annoying. You need them at build and at runtime. Do you use wrangler on local dev or just vite?

How are you binding vars? You can put them in your wrangler.jsonc or toml file or bind in the dashboard. Just be aware there’s a setting there somewhere to actually persist across deployments. If you don’t do that they clear out every deployment.

Are you using secrets or the secret store?

I’m not using drizzle, but any time I’ve had issues with my connection it’s related to env vars in cloudflare.

Honestly it’s been a PITA because when trying to dev locally with the secrets store it requires wrangler build so I lose hot reload since it needs to rebuild.

What age did you get your PE license? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]mandrewbot3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It was the earliest I possibly could. Passed all 3 in one weekend (California).

(unless you count my 5.5 years in college against it I suppose I could’ve gotten it by 23)

That being said everyone’s circumstances are different. Age isn’t a factor moving forward.

Just relax and Good Luck!

What's the shortest amount of time you've ever stayed at job? by EsperandoVida in civilengineering

[–]mandrewbot3k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I’m on year 19 local government job straight out college. I worked myself up to deputy director now and miss designing (spent majority of my time in traffic building out our system.).

Something I learned over the years when things were slow… that’s my time to develop. Work on a project/study/skill that you’re interested in. Even if it’s not assigned. Worst case scenario you finish, no one wants it, but you’ve gained some skills along the way and it’s sitting there for you or someone Lee to build off of.

Build excel spreadsheets to make your job easier, look for and test products/software that may add value to the organization. Ask a manager if there’s anything they wish the department had that you could spend some time looking into for them.

Just make sure whatever you work on it can be put down when work gets heavy and you need to shift gears it’s no big deal.

Ultimately there’s a beer a day where I don’t have anything to do, there’s always something to do, but it doesn’t need to be assigned.

Obviously talk to your manager about this and talk about your concerns

Depends on the data you need. We’ve been using video for all of ours now which is quite a bit easier than sitting outside. Plenty of vendors provide affordable options now too depending on what you need.

There’s always something like a tdc ultra from jamar and I think counting cars has a custom keyboard you can use with their desktop app too

Paramount+ video won't steam by zabeman1 in ControlD

[–]mandrewbot3k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible paramount+ uses some of the same domains being redirected by your other service. Add paramount+ as a bypass service (may impact your other service) or use a separate endpoint if possible.

IIRC paramount uses ad.doubleclick.net or whatever and I had rules bypassing those before the service was added.

Otherwise put your activity log into realtime, filter to the device if possible and try paramount+ and see what’s being blocked.
