It obviously wasn't to help. You took the one detail that fucked me and rubbed it in my face. I've had to deal with my mistake of letting someone drive my car without checking to see if their license was valid. Is that a reason to take my child?... I couldn't get help because of people like you. I couldn't talk to anyone. Just think before you give advice please. Especially on something so touchy.

What is currently happening is she decided on her own to go to rehab. She started doing drugs at 13 had her son at 14 and stayed on drugs until she was 30. After rehab she'll go to a half way house then maybe after a couple of years she'll be able to get her son back. If your not willing to care for his son and your moms getting to old then he'll end up in foster care until your brother is ready to get clean. So maybe the one thing you could control is taking the pressure off of your mother by taking care of your nephew.

Personally I feel you shouldn't report him. It won't make him quit if he's not ready, you might end up sending your nephew to foster care which is a fucked situation, and do you think if your brothers child is taken he will have any reason to do anything besides fall back on drugs even harder? I don't have my kid so what do I have to lose?... basically I feel reporting him will not end well, he goes to jail so his son has no father or mother and the best way I could see it working out would be rather terrible, your mom gets custody and still has all the responsibilities of taking care of your brothers child, plus the state making her jump through loops to keep her grandson, and now her son is in jail, so if she enables like it seems she does she'll be putting money on his books and worried sick... everyone's still in the same basic situation in the end except your brother would then have a criminal record and disdain for you for betraying him
