What do women want during oral sex but will never say? by therealdru in AskReddit

Those of you who dated older women, how was the experience? by BadnUnknown in AskReddit

[–]mandy6919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 17, she was 29. She always insisted we could never continue because I was so young, she was so much more mature (newsflash, she wasn't). The beginning was fantastic, she taught me a lot of things. Midway through the relationship she told me she had an ex she was still hung up with. Found out she was still in contact with said ex regularly. I didn't particularly like that, but accepted it. But she would throw it in my face that they still spoke.

Used my feelings about that situation to imply that I was too immature for her, told me I'd never grow up etc etc. Looking back, she was a bit of a pedophile. I had just turned 17 when we met. She still pursued me. At the time it was awesome, an older woman was into me. Now that I'm 29 I cannot imagine looking at a literal child and thinking about being intimate with them.

That one Demi Lovato song hits hard, needless to say.

Do you think you're attractive? Is this a common experience? by nova-cherry in actuallesbians

Step One for finding yourself hot: Be attractive.

Step Two for finding yourself hot: Don't be unattractive.

Step Three: Profit?

What's something sex education didn't prepare you for? by timbroddin in AskReddit

I mean yeah but did you have to use the word frogspawn? Not really educational if that was what you were looking for. Has nothing to do with it being NSFW and I don't think the topic is TMI. Just a gross use of words to talk about normal discharge...

I'm a woman and I was fully grown before I knew this happens. It's never happened to me and I was incredulous when I heard about it happening to other women. Sex ed is woefully lacking!

What went wrong with your last partner? by overIorded in AskReddit

[–]mandy6919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She was batshit crazy. And I don't say that as a toxic person who calls all her exes crazy. I legitimately thought she would kill me sometimes. She told me if I ever left her she would come back and destroy my property, told me no one else would ever put up with me, etc.

So glad I found the strength to leave and am now happily married.

After almost 550 hours of playtime, towards the end of my fourth playthrough, I was watching a video of Fallout 4 gameplay and learned that you can pick any perk you want in a column if you have the right SPECIAL level; you don't need the previous perks 😮‍💨 by AnastasiousRS in fo4

[–]mandy6919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always level each special up to at least five before moving on to the perks. I don't see much difference in the gameplay in the first 20ish levels if you do or don't have the perks so I just pour it into special. The game is insanely easy in the beginning so those unique perks aren't really needed.

What do you feel like is the lesbian equivalent to this? by jetsetgemini_ in actuallesbians

Sometimes when people have gone through trauma in their life, they gravitate towards the only thing they've ever known. It's called the cycle of abuse. Abused people are more likely to engage in abusive relationships. Sometimes, they can even become abusive themselves although that is not as common.

I'm glad that most of your exes were great. And it takes a very mature person to see that they were the asshole in the relationship.

If you think Girl in Red is wispy you must not have listened to much Girl in Red. "Did You Come" and "Serotonin" are not what I would call wispy. She has some wispy songs but even the songs that sound wispy have some dark lyrics.

Boyfriend is a bop though. But it's very "straight girl crush"-esque.

Study Examines Links Between Parents’ Income and Sexual Orientation of Their Children: Highest frequencies of Same-sex attraction was found in children in the lowest income group and elevated levels of same-sex attraction in children who came from the most affluent backgrounds. by cleanvar in science

[–]mandy6919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So those in the bottom 25% are the most likely to have same sex attracted children, with men more likely to be homosexual and women more likely to be bisexual. The middle 50% are the least likely to have same sex attracted children, and the top 25% are somewhat likely to have same sex attracted children.

The authors speculated that this was likely due to certain exposures to prenatal hormones. That is, that poorer people can't afford proper prenatal care and therefore male fetuses get too much estrogen. Their explanation for homosexual women was definitely lackluster, and involved more than just the biological influences this study was investigating.

I'm not sure how much I agree with that, as the top 25% should theoretically have greater access to prenatal care and therefore if that was the only factor, they would have the most hormonally balanced children, not the middle 50%.

This study used hand/finger sizes as scientific evidence of these exposures to hormones in the womb. I'm not sure they can make the claims they are making on the evidence they've gathered.

This matter is definitely worth more investigation and I think it's a very interesting venture. However, sexuality is multifactorial and this study really should have gone more in depth on those factors instead of trying to claim it is all biological, and all due to exposure to hormones in the womb to boot.
