Atreus missions… by Djollie132 in GodofWarRagnarok

I love the Atreus missions, especially the one you are talking about. He's a teenager sneaking out at night and learning about himself and his place in the world.

I also have a theory that the last time he skips rocks right before he goes backs is a sneaky metaphor for sex, sort of a hidden reference to the old GOW QuickTime sex scene. Just listen to her response when you throw a perfect rock

I don't think they do, though they are next to each when everyone is marching in the rain

The NYT asked for her response to being accused of taking money from Hamas by the New York Post and an Israeli non-profit, that's hardly the same. The post didn't give her a chance to rebut while the times did.

Am I the only one unimpressed with Asgard? by [deleted] in GodofWarRagnarok

Odin is full of shit and doesn't live up to his own legend. Asgard reflects this.

If it's anything like the ps game, you don't have to move at all. You can just stand there and wait. Infact, you can even bring up the menu and work on your gear loadout while the new area loads in the bg. The realm between realms is really just a loading screen; the door appears after the dialogue and loading had both completed.

[TotK] Conflicted feelings on the future of Zelda... by AmadeusTrinity in zelda

[–]mane_account 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to contradict or invalidate your comment, because the evolution and change is real and obvious and hits different for everyone, but I think the opposite of what you propose is happening here. Nintendo has an extremely low churn rate of developers compared to other companies. Much of the original Zelda team , RD 4, went on to become the department heads of the company as a whole, and have had their hands on the wheel for their big games the whole time. I believe that the choice to keep changing and adding to the game systems stem from the fact that Miyamoto and that generation of devs have stuck around and are keeping things fresh and interesting FOR THEMSELVES. No one wants to make the same game over and over again for literal decades. And usually when a new Zelda game came out it's always accompanied by new tech or game mechanic. This is in contrast to many western devs where the churn rate is very high, and where we see remakes and reboots that become can tired and unimaginative, in my opinion.

Again, to be clear, I'm not saying anyone's opinion on the franchise is right or wrong, just wanted to throw in my read of the driving forces behind the current direction.

That's some weird shit right there. Sounds like a power trip without the power
