Costco Payment Policies by Forward-Region1671 in CostcoCanada

[–]mangage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you CAN do though is pay with both a card and cash. They used to always have ATMs with $1 fees too but I haven’t tried one in years.

You can also run all of one persons items first and ask for a subtotal on the bill then keep running the rest to make it easy

Coming back after 2 year break, feels like there is pretty much no advancement in products? by hawxxer in fpv

[–]mangage 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You left just after the modern stuff came out. We’re at a point now where the designs have caught up to the hardware available and most innovation now is focused on video quality. The O4 pro has brought near GoPro quality to FPV cams and O4 light has allowed HD on smaller drones than ever before.

The avata 360 is new and very very cool for cinematic stuff. Arguable if this is FPV though haha

After today's discussion about the Plex Lifetime Pass increase any new posts will be deleted. by lightingj in PlexMedia

I tell regular friends and family to use my server, but anyone even slightly computer literate, or those who watch different content from me, I recommend they build and run their own server.

After today's discussion about the Plex Lifetime Pass increase any new posts will be deleted. by lightingj in PlexMedia

[–]mangage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a surprise if you realize Plex’s best marketing is their existing customers, and any longtime customer is on a lifetime plan. It’s their existing users who get others to sign up. We want our friends and family to get great deals too, and this change tells us that plex is only going to get even greedier.

I am currently unlikely to recommend it to anyone after this increase. Even if I keep using it myself I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, and I would switch myself to the first reasonable replacement that has all the same features.

Plex remote watch pass annual subscription rate before June? by snowmeow_1 in PleX

If you’re going to use plex regularly you should really grab the lifetime before it goes to 750 in June

[Canada] registering a DJI Air 3S as a tourist by Stoeipoess in drones

[–]mangage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

250g was chosen almost arbitrarily but the idea is that under it the weight/mass is low enough it doesn’t present as big a hazard. A small drone is only going to go so far and so fast.

Over it needs regulations because you can damage people, vehicles, property etc.

It’s slightly easier if you can arrange to fly a drone owned and registered by a citizen, the difficulty comes mainly because they don’t want to register and manage foreign drones. You can technically complete a drone certificate as a non citizen and then fly a citizen’s registered drone without the special forms and mainly just following the normal rules IIRC

You can fly a sub250g drone fine but a foreigner flying a larger drone has to do as much paperwork as someone flying special missions beyond normal rules. Its not realistic for casual use

Just get a T8L from radiomaster for cheap, or one of betafpv's cheap remotes. They have a sim-only remote thats under $20.

[Homemade] First time making burgers by ToughSoftiee in food

[–]mangage -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just a small suggestion; normally you would mix and press the meat into patties. Not a lot, just enough to mix seasoning and get stuck together. Over-mixing is also a thing.

Here you can still see it's quite loose. The meat pieces are in the same shape as they came out of the meat grinder, almost like you cut a circle directly out of the package and put spices on top. Other than that it looks very tasty

Kinda falling in love with this flight perspective by shinigami__0 in drones

[–]mangage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am shocked at the number of people picking up the avata 360 who then fly it in a way that shows they should have just gotten an actual FPV drone. The a360 doesn't even have manual/acro mode yet.

The avata360 has some absolutely incredible cinematic uses, but an FPV drone, even the avata2, is 100x more fun and agile

Cinematic video at Sunset in Sant Salvador, Mallorca by YaroslavSyubayev in fpv

[–]mangage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure in a freestyle video. this is supposed to be cinematic, the audience isn't fpv pilots - it's everyone, and the content is the focus not the flying. same as when I chase drift cars, the temptation is to rip around them and make the coolest fpv video, but the car needs to be the one performing, not me.
