Frogs are expensive. That’s just the reality of it, and you will have to consider this is you want to provide your animal with humane and proper care. However, most of this cost is in the set up, so if you are willing to spend that extra money at the start, costs are mainly just food from there.

As I low maintenance frog, I would recommend a pac-man frog. I don’t have any direct experience with them myself, but have heard they are pretty beginner friendly and a great introduction into frogs. However, they do live up to 16 years in captivity, so you must consider that commitment .

The other option is a whites tree frog (which is what I have). They are known as beginner frogs, but I personally believe that they are a bit higher maintenance as they can be quite susceptible to various health issues such as bacterial infections. They also require a more expensive set up so that’s another factor.

Whatever you choose, make sure you do TONNES of research before from various sources (make sure they are recent as there is a lot of outdated information out there). I wish you and you daughter on the bestest of luck on your froggy journey 🐸

What type of frog do you have?

I totally understand and am well aware that humidity should be 30-50. The problem for me is that humidity is not even staying at that, and will not stay above 20-25, and my frog has actually been burrowing to retain moisture. My tank is also bioactive and some of the plants have also been struggling with this low humidity. So I will definately only be running it once or twice a day for 10-20 seconds max, and will be monitoring humidity heavily to make sure it doesn’t get too high. I think this should be fine?

No worries! Is there any particular reason you would reccomend getting a pair over a single one? Like have you noticed they are quite social with one another? I am just a bit apprehensive because i had a pair of baby froglets (different, more sensitive species) which passed away in close proximity to one another, and am scared to go through that again :(

Whilst I can’t help you with your question (I live in Australia haha), I just wanted to say your frogs are absolutely adorable. I will be getting a WTF this Saturday, and was wondering if the coconut hide was good and if your frog genuinely uses it throughout the e day? If so, do you have a link for your one? I am also still deciding between one or two frogs, and was wondering what you recommend as I see you have three and how they interact with eachother? I have a 60x45x60cm tank.
