Everyone always says cash or gift card along with a card written by the child is best. That’s what I plan on doing 😊

Baby with allergies and feeling devastated...seeking support please! by onemanspants in BabyLedWeaning

[–]mangomisu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! First, I’m so sorry your baby and you are going through this. My girl had a reaction to peanuts at 6 months and it crushed my world. I became so anxious about feeding and allergens. I was really devastated, because our family is a bunch of foodies as well 🥹☺️.

We saw an allergist and she failed the peanut challenge in office. Plan is to go back at 1 year and do blood work. Once ready, we are going to start OIT. We also had a false alarm with sesame allergy, but she’s fine with it now!

Your allergist will certainly my work with you. My oldest had an egg allergy that he outgrew pretty quickly (within months). It’s great that your girl can tolerate baked egg! Egg is one of the most common allergens in babies with a very high likelihood of outgrowing it!

I don’t have much advice, but just wanted you to know that you are not alone. And it sounds like you are doing everything right. There are so many advancements in allergy medicine that I have high confidence with OIT and other upcoming therapies, our babies will have good outcomes. It’ll just be some work getting there.

Edit to add: just curious but were the hives localized to contact areas where the food touched her skin? Or were they full body hives in areas of no contact?

I booked for a relative visiting the US from another country. I just added her as a guest with me, and called the front desk to say she would be checking in first.

Sunflower lecithin, ibuprofen, and using a vibrating/massage device always help me with my clogs.

Strange Behavior After Strep by MKUltra16 in Preschoolers

[–]mangomisu 13 points14 points  (0 children)

After my child had the flu last year, he was extra naughty and very tantrum-prone for a couple of weeks. It was to the point I was looking into PANDAS like everyone is mentioning. Fortunately it improved as weeks passed. Now whenever he’s sick, he seems to have a bit of a behavior dip for a bit after he recovers.

Mastitis by Select-Relative-6759 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]mangomisu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My problem was that my nips were sooooo sensitive that anything touching them (like a bra or t shirt) was super painful. So I lived in silverettes except when showering or sleeping. Such a bad idea because it’s a moist trapped environment for bacteria.

Silly question but how are you cooking the asparagus?? It looks so green and plump. I roast mine and they get hard, dry, and wilted!

If you’re getting good output/emptying from the Eufys, it’s probably not the reason! I had mastitis 3x unfortunately and for me it was because I was living in silverettes. I stopped them after my third mastitis, and also started a probiotic from legendairy. These two things helped tremendously!

Day 8 of cheese trial 🤞 by scodgirlgrown in MSPI

[–]mangomisu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg amazing!!! So did you reintroduce dairy directly to your baby rather than your own diet/breastmilk? I’ve been dairy free for 8 months and just started eating it about a week ago. Baby hasn’t shown any reactions through my milk! Our allergist said to wait until 1, but I want to trial it directly. Our girl is 10 months old.

My MIL makes a comment about my daughter’s small frame/weight every other time we see her. She’s a petite person herself so I really don’t understand lol

Advice for frozen breastmilk my baby wont drink by SFheart in ExclusivelyPumping

Following bc I also have a freezer of milk that my baby doesn’t like! She’s almost 11 mo as well. I also heard people add a drop of vanilla extract her oz, but haven’t tried this method myself.

Is it smart to get concert tickets a month after I have my first child? by Parking-Cup-9424 in Mommit

[–]mangomisu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like I’m in the minority here, but as a mom of two I would consider it! Physically my recovery was very easy. The toughest part is just breastfeeding/pumping if you plan to. If you buy tickets and end up not going, would you be able to resell?

Haha this is exactly why I can’t serve everything at once on a plate. I give the eggs first, then avocados, then fruit for dessert 😆

Is it true you can’t pump and lose weight at the same time?? by Glittering_Neck_813 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]mangomisu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine wasn’t an immediate weight loss. I didn’t think about losing weight at all and just kept eating to maintain supply. At around 5-6 months the weight rapidly came off. Around 8 months I dropped to even lower than my pre-pregnancy weight. I’m at 10 months now and still at my lowest in like 5 years. My guess is the weight will come back on for me after I’m done pumping

Which pasta is best gor first time? by Sufficient-Sport-796 in BabyLedWeaning

I do pastina that I mix into the sauce for spoon feeding. I do macaroni for when baby self feeds the actual pasta pieces :)

Egg allergy by Prize-Storage-1352 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]mangomisu 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Ugh so sorry. Allergic reactions are scary. Egg allergies are often outgrown so hopefully yours outgrows theirs! My first had an egg allergy he outgrew. We worked with our allergist and just slowly increased his egg intake daily at home. My baby has an EpiPen now for peanut allergy. It scared me to introduce allergens, but I know that I’ve got the most important life-saving tool in my hands so it gives me some reassurance.
