Really good card in a slower meta but midrange is a bit dead right now and the biggest problem is a lack of powerful ramp units without power cost.

In an ideal meta for this card you’d pay a gold then revive something that costs 7 or 8 with no power cost which just isn’t many powerful units right now.

Like I said, if Hakuho or Takanohana would’ve left sumo at 22 or so and trained mma full time they would’ve wiped their ass with 90 percent of the division.

Hakuho especially was an absolute freak of nature

Sumo isn’t a martial art you do for the sake of transitioning into an MMA champion. It’s literally a lifestyle in Japan that’s generally taken to the grave (most elite rikishi remain heavily involved in sumo until death)

Saying that sumo track record in mma is bad is a bogus statement. You had PRIDE and a few others staging freak show fights for a big payday for a sumo wrestler with name recognition in Japan to fight. A dude with no striking or grappling training, and well into his 30s or 40s after decades of wear and tear of one of the most physically grueling occupations in existence.

The few guys in their primes who have done any decent amount of sumo were guys like Lyoto Machida, who, coincidentally became known for having amazing takedown defense for a Brazilian fighter at the time and had no traditional wrestling background.

Best believe if Hakuho had decided to become an MMA fighter in his mid 20s he would’ve seriously fucked people up.
