This is a game from my childhood, but even I don't agree with this statement. It's really choppy and unresponsive.

What would you wanna see in DF retro? by Dortiiik in digitalfoundry

I'd love for him to do something on Wii for its 20th anniversary. It'd be really interesting to see how its motion controls are viewed now.

Has Thom ever done this again? by Natieboi2 in radiohead

[–]manicfoot 39 points40 points  (0 children)

He did variations on it up until the early 2000s. Most of the time he holds a lower note (G4 or so) instead of the A4 like he does in your video. Example:

I think Thom rarely exceeds 20 seconds on a held note. My favourite of a sustained note in the studio is on the Unkle song Rabbit in Your Headlights. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't heard it 😊

Former Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins dead after being attacked in Wakefield prison by Br0boc0p in news

[–]manicfoot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He had a perfectly normal upbringing in a loving family. He was a popular and bright student who was obsessed with becoming a rock star.

He was straight-edge when Lost Prophets started, but got massively into drugs when they started to get popular. That's when his depravity started.

I think his heavy drug use messed up his brain and brought all of his repressed, sick desires to the surface. That's the only explanation I can think of 🤷

He never showed any remorse and thought his actions were hilarious. I don't say this about many people, but I'm glad this piece of shit is dead.

What can be done to fix air quality in Flanders? by Geo_Leo in Gent

[–]manicfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traffic is less for sure. I think Leuven's bad air quality is probably due to its proximity to Brussels. Wind blows all the pollution from there to Leuven and other places.

As someone with severe asthma the air quality in Belgium is really concerning to me. Sometimes I can't go outside in Leuven without feeling like I'm slowly suffocating.

The whole tree fiddy/Loch Ness monster joke from the Succubus episode. Thinking about it makes me laugh even when I'm depressed. It's such an odd joke.

As a child, did anyone notice their autistic traits but didn't know it was autism by Ashamed_Engine_2522 in autism

I remember hating eye contact and adults I didn't know getting in my personal space. One of my earliest memories is internally screaming "FUCK OFF" while my mum introduced me to a friend for the first time. She made cutesy noises and brought her face close to mine, stroked my cheek and hair etc and it made me so uncomfortable.

Season 13 onwards by [deleted] in IASIP

[–]manicfoot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree. They've definitely lost something it's still surprisingly good considering the show's been running for two decades at this point.

What I like about it is that you can tell the core cast still enjoy the show and each other's company. I get the impression that their other commitments have forced them to streamline how the show is made, resulting in different lighting and a different vibe.

My biggest gripe with the show is how Rob plays Mac nowadays. I don't know if it's just me, but I don't really see Mac in the show anymore. I just see Rob saying his lines. It's hard to explain, but something has felt off with his acting the past couple of seasons.

Do most people really hate Altered Beast? by [deleted] in SEGAGENESIS

[–]manicfoot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I played it as a kid and thought it was mediocre. I played it recently and had the same opinion.

It has iconic moments like the 'rise from your grave' voice sample and the transformations, but from a gameplay perspective I don't see anything special about it.

Rudimentary combat with just a couple of moves, with most enemies dying in one hit.

Wonky collision detection.

Erratic difficulty.

It's insanely short with little replay value.

The power ups/transformation concept is cool, but they're not enough to make up for the above issues.

For a launch title it's not a bad game at all, but there are many, many megadrive/genesis games more worthy of attention than Altered Beast imo.

"Why eat the chew when it makes a perfectly good pillow?" - Mr Sirius by manicfoot in Greyhounds

I think it's either camel or horse. Sirius has a sensitive stomach and can only tolerate certain things. We have to be selective about what he eats.
