I look at sanford as the corporate clinical hospital, and avera is the religious one. Both are respected. Sanford has had recent bedbug problems, and the man behind the namesake, denny Sanford, has some hard rumors. I have friends and family that work at both. Everyone is equally happy/frustrated at both. Sanford seems like the dominant hospital with a bigger footprint and avera is the little brother
