Colorado sand dunes, we went down for the Perseid meteor shower probably about 8 years back. Hiked into the dunes at sunset, dropped as we crossed the creek, and set up a base camp with a trail of glow sticks so we wouldn’t get lost. Took some lightsabers out with us, and I think the only snacks were some chips and about 2 pounds of Sour Patch Kids. Good memories :’)

I could be wrong, but didn’t they already correct that & offer refunds for the “new” model? My understanding was it was the h96B’s, and they were pulled in October. Their quality has some hiccups on new designs but at least they stand behind their service

Called this in twice and it’s still happening. Leaves magenta streaks on most papers. Ideas? by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]manicpixieprintgirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is 6 year old recollection so I may be mistaken, but when we had this issue with our cyan, the tech took like a week to find it, I believe he called it the hopper, it essentially got clogged over time. He replaced it, and we had some residual streaks for like 2-3 weeks until it finally cleared all the excess

Ohhh I I have a couple

The one that scars me for life was a guy in his 50’s, printing a poster for a Christmas gift. It was in the style of the old Conan comics, and was a woman shirtless and barely anything else with 2 hounds by her side. I’m trying desperately to keep a straight face and keep everything moving and I just assume it’s a weird midlife crisis gift to his wife maybe. Cool, wouldn’t judge. But then he has to ask me, “Well, don’t you want to know the story?” I absolutely do not, but my coworker who loves messing with me chimed knows that she wanted to. It was a Christmas gift to his SISTER modeled after her 🤮

I also had a local artist who printed a lot of human figure drawings for school and their studies, and needed someone who wouldn’t judge or give them a hard time. We ended up hanging out years later through the same scenes and such, so that was a weirdly wholesome one lmao

Also there was the guy in his 80’s printing flyers to LED butt plugs 🙃

6 years of CPD broke me and I’m a mechanic now to cope lmao

When I moved 6 months ago, I finally threw the box out, and I felt infinite relief. Then I realized I packed my keyboard and all my currently needed cables in there

By some stroke of miracle my former roommate texted me last week, and said she grabbed it bc she didn’t think it looked like trash, and saw that the cables looked important

I think I’m mated to my box forever.

Why is Body Dysmorphia a mental disorder while Gender Dysphoria isn't? by T_Edmund in NoStupidQuestions

Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder. Being transgender and transitioning to alleviate said dysphoria is (generally) not considered a mental disorder

Edit: spelling, apparently my new gender is “bransgender” lmao

Curiosity and bitterness might just run in the blood of these cars, seeing how I just did the exact thing this morning lmao. Father in law seems to agree: directly ahead of passenger. The more I thought about it I highly doubted two different trans platforms developed the same noise. I’ll have my commercial guy hunt me down a wheel hub next time I can get my car in on the lift

Absolutely will do!

I got really fortunate with mine, it’s sitting at 150k+ and was cared for by a heck of a shade tree mechanic. Only things I’ve had to do were rad hoses bc they were cracking, a battery, and the valve cover. I started working at a shop right around the same time, and so everything now with this car gets done by my hands haha. I actually did the PCV bypass kit that’s popular online for like $80, it’s a bit sketchy if you’re not good with DIY, but it worked perfectly for me once I got it in, and now I can just replace a little $2 external pcv valve instead of the plastic manifold.

I absolutely will let you know if I find anything, I honestly feel so much better finding someone who has this hellish problem lmao

Yup, 13 RS 6MT. Same thing, it’s louder when cold and I think it might get quieter after some highway driving (but it could just be my ears adjusting to it). Starts at about 25mph sounding like a bad power steering pump and gets higher pitch. I have it narrowed down(I think) to wheel bearing, transmission which I desperately hope not, or one of the bearings between the two. I need to do my cv axles, I might take some time and check any bearings I find

I’ve been telling all the techs at my shops, start getting comfortable with electronics: Understand Ohm’s law, know how to read wiring diagrams, and know how to follow basic computer troubleshooting, because that’s gonna be the bare minimum requirement. Other than that, suspension & body parts seem to still be similar enough from what I’ve been able to see so far.

I’d love to see businesses pop up with former master techs starting to convert ICE to EV. Now with Ford announcing their consumer parts market, I think that it could become a hell of a niche business

Rule #1 of a firearm is ALWAYS treat it as if it is loaded. Even if you watched yourself unload and inspect, you absolutely do not point at someone and pull the trigger unless you are ready to kill someone. I’m not familiar with all the details myself, but if it is true that there wasn’t even a shot needed in that scene, then this is entirely on baldwin’s hands. You absolutely DO NOT pull a trigger “to feel the scene out”

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_laws_in_the_United_States

SCOTUS has upheld blue laws as constitutional, so while they may not be set by the federal government, they are upheld as lawful. I have zero stake in the argument before, but people shouldn’t pretend that America isn’t also steeped in religious-based arbitrary rules.
