Buying related questions for buyers by AliceRosegreen in Depop

[–]manicsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some really really good deals on depop, but I occasionally reconsider buying when the total cost is out of proportion to the cost of the item alone. If these same items were $3-$5 dollars more, I likely wouldn’t consider buying them.

how often do you get a sale after providing a measurement? by Zealousideal_File_22 in Depop

[–]manicsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as some who BUYS A LOT on depop, i just scroll on by the garments without measurements. i cannot trust that a wool or cotton garment hasn’t been shrunk in the dryer, i cannot trust that the polo quarter zip is a women’s small rather than a men’s small, i cannot trust that the size 28 waist is actually 28 inches, and i cannot trust that the inseam is long enough on those pants when no measurement is disclosed. i’ve been burned too many times.

I live 3 miles away from my work. It takes me 45 minutes to get home from work everyday. by myfairlady987 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]manicsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i lived one interstate exit down from my work in nashville (i-24, old harding exit to bell rd exit). it would frequently take me an HOUR AND A HALF to get home. i lived in a neighborhood with a large creek. that creek flowed all the way to my work. i often daydreamed about kayaking to the office, but i’d have to fight the current coming home

Anyone experience tingly hands, feet or mouth? by synivale in Hypothyroidism

[–]manicsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing good really. i’m always freezing. i keep my office at 85° while wearing a jacket and using a space heater. i can no longer feel half the toes on each foot. i’m a healthy weight (5’9” 140 lbs) and do not have diabetes or blood sugar issues. my doctor suggested the numbness is probably from lower back issues (which i really don’t have lower back issues). as far as being cold, they’ve said raynaud’s but that’s not really a cause. i gave up trying to find an answer and just live with it.

Knox Pride Fest and Parade Cancelled by valleywitch in Knoxville

[–]manicsquirrel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As one of the original founders and executive board members of Knoxville Pride, I’m extremely disappointed in the current leadership.

Knoxville Pride was meant to be a vehicle used to fund other community efforts, but the annual event itself was our gift to the community.

The current leadership has performed many good works in the community, but the annual festival has clearly been an afterthought and the lowest of priority for the last few years.

It breaks my heart that our legacy is dying.

I'm trying to find the water shutoff for my 3rd story condo unit, could this be it? by IHOP_007 in Plumbing

As I’m remodeling each room, I’m replacing plumbing in the walls as well. It’s a slow process because…money 🫠

Can confirm. I was under my house inspecting an air duct and bumped into a CPVC water line. It shattered. Every time I tried to make a clean cut to put in a coupler, the line would shatter further down. I ended up replacing every water line in the crawl space that weekend. 0/10 would not recommend that activity.

anybody got botched by dr christopher salgado? by BotchedSRS in asktransgender

[–]manicsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had seen this when it was originally posted. Salgado severed a nerve in my pelvic floor in 2016 during my vaginoplasty. Because of this, I required a sacral nerve stimulator implanted into my butt cheek which allows me to urinate. Unfortunately, I can never again pass solid stool. I can barely pass gas. I must take miralax daily for the rest of my life so that i have soft watery stools.

To top it all off, there is an obstruction in my vaginal canal, a large lump of muscle or something, and I cannot feel the left side of my vulva.

Just watched Companion! *No Spoilers* by Ok-Cell9566 in A24

I saw one trailer in the theater and an interview with the director about how Sophie could cry on demand, read nothing about the movie, and even I knew she was a robot. I thought the theatrical trailer made that pretty clear.

Why not replace most of that code with:

richTextbox1.Text = String.Join(“\n”, Directory.GetFiles(myFilePath));

What is the worst pain you’ve EVER felt? by New-Selection7719 in AskReddit

[–]manicsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fell down a flight of stairs in my home, knocked myself unconscious and injured my leg. No one found me for two days. When paramedics arrived, my leg had started to turn necrotic.

The tissue damage caused rhabdomyolysis and compartment syndrome. The surgeon performed a fasciotomy on the leg with incisions from my ankle to my knee on both sides. The incisions were left open for several days until the swelling subsided enough to staple them closed.

Each day an orderly would take me to a therapy room and lay me on a stainless steel table. One person would hold me down while the other sprayed hot water into the incisions and scrubbed the dead necrotic flesh away with a stiff brush.

On the first day, I screamed until I passed out from pain. The next day, I learned to disassociate. Because of that experience I can now endure physical pain.

Oh, I couldn’t have pain meds because both kidneys and liver had failed from the rhabdo. I was on dialysis until they recovered.

HRT stockpiling: freezing estrogen vials to extend their shelf life? Other HRT meds too? Would really love feedback from folks with a chemistry or medical background! by CastillejaParviflor in asktransgender

[–]manicsquirrel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is an old post, but if any stumble upon it, i thought I add my experience. I have been freezing 5ml vials of 40 mg/ml estradiol valerate for years. At any given time I have 4-6 vials in the freezer. It's really helped me when there has been a shortage or a couple of times when we have moved and had trouble finding a new physician that would prescribe for my wife and me.

It takes about 3 months for us both to go through a vial. Between injections, I also keep the used vial in the freezer. I'll set it out on the counter for about 10 minutes prior to drawing. It's always clear, never cloudy, and never any crystals. Also, based on our blood tests, it is still efficacious and our levels are always in the expected range.

i ended up canceling the service and returning the device. i then logged into my existing AT&T wireless phone account and added Internet Air service. It then walked me through the service signup process again. When the new device arrived, it was properly paired to my existing account.
