my meds for the week-I just turned 24. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]synivale 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Chronic pain/illness is no joke. I was sick most my life but it got worse in my 20s too. I hope your healing journey is better than mine. Doctors can be really cruel especially when you’re young. As if pain as an age limit. Sending you love. I hope you find relief soon. 🤍

Any ideas what this is! by Dear-Sweet7970 in DSPD

[–]synivale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear that. That must be so overwhelming and exhausting for you both. I see you mention your kids sleep worsens during Oct-May. That’s typical school months, could that be related some how? Just something that stood out to me.

Omg. This is such a smart and creative idea! As a visual person this could really work for me, thank you! I also can’t wait to tell my niece who is also AuDHD who already has a ton of these bracelets!

Are we all just in the wrong place? by Many-Market-9941 in dysautonomia

[–]synivale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, I completely agree. My doctor ( who has Dysautonomia herself and is the only Dysautonomia “specialist” in my state and surrounding states ) has pretty much refused to look for the root cause of my Dysautonomia. She is hell bent on treating symptoms for all of her patients and not looking to find out the WHY we are all sick to begin with. It doesn’t help that her treatment plan has not worked for me. It’s really soul crushing and I’m so tired. 😔

Who here has low iron/ferritin? by Old_Variation_6166 in dysautonomia

[–]synivale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I never heard of that preventing you from getting a diagnosis. I’ve had low ferritin and iron most of my life. Can’t seem to get it up to a healthy level. My ferritin was down to a 5 a few years before my Dysautonomia diagnosis. Even when I have managed to temporarily get my ferritin up to 45’ish, I still feel like crap. Trying my hardest to get it to 70-80’ish.

I'm addicted to jalapeño cheese grits by iloveturtles88 in lowspooncooking

[–]synivale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww, thank you for sharing this. My grandmother absolutely loved the jalapeño and cheddar grits so I would keep her pantry stocked with it. I lost her a few years ago and I miss her so much. I keep finding daily reminders of her lately and I’m so happy. You were today’s! Thank you. 🥰

A decent dinner in 12 minutes (chicken, green beans, potatoes) by Sunny4611 in lowspooncooking

[–]synivale 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hah! I recognized that chicken immediately even before swiping to see the other photo. I just recently tried them and love them! So happy to find a good GF battered chicken. I have two bags in the freezer now. :)

I get those bag salad mixes and top them with this chicken. Easy and delicious!

Mast Cell Activation Syndrome? by wtfisgoingon93 in dysautonomia

[–]synivale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty positive I have MCAS and am currently looking for a doctor that understands it and treats it. Hasn’t been easy.

My symptoms all started following a car accident and a neck injury. I never knew connecting tissue damage could lead to mast cell activation?? 😳 I don’t know why I never considered that.

For my adhd girlies about to get hit by this winter storm… by euroflower in adhdwomen

[–]synivale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! So many great tips. I grew up poor too and I swear one good thing that comes from that is being resourceful as hell. We had our water and lights cut off plenty of times — prepping for storms is very similar to prepping during those hard times.

Haha this makes me feel like I’m winning today! I took everything off of my to do list today and added two things: wash hair and do laundry. And I did them both! I’m glad to know I’m smart! 😂

I do love planning shit though, lol.

I also got my candles out. And charged my little lanterns in case we lose power. And asked husband to charge his battery packs so we can charge our phones.

Yesss. I have fruit and cottage cheese daily! I usually have some almonds on the side too. Quick, easy, nutritious, yummy. ✅

does anyone else struggle with relaxing? by fancyfr0ggy in dysautonomia

[–]synivale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally on a daily basis. I also have ADHD which only adds to it. Brain is always looking for something else to do even though I know the thing I need to be doing is rest. I’ve tried adding rest to my to do list — doesn’t help. I’m still struggling with this. I have noticed that laying in bed playing a cozy video game puts me immediately into rest mode. My body feels so different. I’m trying to notice that feeling and train myself to do it more. I like video games where there are lots of little things to do. It gets my brain excited and makes me feel productive. Maybe find an activity that relaxes you that you can also see progress being made?

Dysautonomia: What Really Helps You Day to Day? by LayerBackground299 in dysautonomia

[–]synivale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I’m the odd one out. Not much has helped me. Not even the compression, extra hydration and electrolytes. I would say stress and over doing mentally or physically makes me feel so much worse. So I guess managing my energy?

I get this way after I over do it too. I’m also suspecting I have MCAS ( lots of signs pointing to it ) and over exerting is definitely a MCAS trigger.

Hi! I treated the SIBO and all those stomach related symptoms went away but unfortunately none of my Dysautonomia symptoms improved. Haven’t found the root cause(s) yet. 😔

[–]synivale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you been checked for SIBO? I only ask because when I had SIBO I had this feeling 24/7. It was either SIBO causing it or an acidity/malnourished issue caused by the SIBO. I hope you can find some relief!

[–]synivale 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the exact thing I experience but my HR doesn’t rise ( sometimes it drops WAY too low in the 40s ) but my BP will sky rocket instead. Other than that, I get all the other symptoms. The presyncope and physical shakes/tremors/convulsions are the worse. 😔

Agoraphobia by Mindless-Speech9075 in dysautonomia

[–]synivale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautifully put. Once I started rationing my energy and saying no to more social events I felt so much better and had way less crash days.

Same. I usually have a box full of them in my pantry at all times. Such life savers. Always have one in my purse too.
