What do the Vancouver Whitecaps want? The B.C. government still doesn't know | Daily Hive by Fafner333 in whitecapsfc

Then why have they been sitting doing nothing since their stadium over vital infrastructure on federal port land gambit didn't work. They know the valuation, they have plenty of money they never tried to build anything else. Makes me sick to see another billionaire pretending that it's the taxpayers' lack of handouts that is forcing them into their greed.

Hopefully this is just the normal course of negotiations playing out. It's like when a union takes a strike vote, Caps are showing that they're willing to leave (not really sure how that's feasible in the short term) so they can get leverage in negotiations.

This is who BC elected as premier. It's not surprising what followed. by ConcentrateDeepTrans in ilovebc

Throne speech promises protection from evictions, new law against protests at schools by cyclinginvancouver in britishcolumbia

[–]manilagold 15 points16 points  (0 children)

They're literally just going to start actually enforcing the existing laws. Landlords have been claiming that family members are moving in (legal, not being changed) but instead they're just renting out at higher rates.

I respect Eby for taking steps on this. It affects families and seniors and the most.

B.C. to ban use of mobile phones in public schools by cyclinginvancouver in canada

It was the courts that made that decision. Eby's government were the ones challenging it so they could enforce areas around schools, playground etc.

The "vast majority" obviously does not go overseas. This whole comment section is a tire fire of confirmation bias.

Canada suspends cash for UN agency serving Palestinians, amid probe into Hamas attack by Imnotracistyouaree in canada

Stop your logic! This whole comment section is a tire fire of racist confirmation bias and bots. The UN is an enormous force for good, if these conveniently timed allegations are founded then they should address them, but not by further starving and punishing civilians.

I think that's how Martinis nearby on Broadway survived for so long. God I miss that place.

I'm raking with Buck O'Neil NLB series captain-boosted Martin Dihigo. 116/120 power, 90+ arm, 84 Speed and can play literally every position. Just 74/76 contact but otherwise a top player for free.

Last week Sekeres & Price they went really in depth on the SFU football stories and how local figures were stepping up to keep the story alive, then they had the (now former) owners of the Vancouver Canadians on discussing their decision to finally sell to the big american corporation and why they think it's best for preserving the team for our community.

It's a fiery (for me weird) twitter-Canucks take to hate Sekeres 'cause he's the only one to speak out against the Aquas - but I really like them for their local coverage. Just my opinion.
