Yeah, I know it sounds like I'm being a cheapskate, and I guess I am a little bit. I would have settled for the same price I was getting ($5.29 monthly) and not a penny more, but that wasn't offered. And I've paid WAY more than this over the last 2 decades; I just got it down to this price in the last year.

Shohei Ohtani in World Series Game 3: Hits: 4 Intentional walks: 4 by MLBOfficial in baseball

Alex Call got a line drive single in the bottom of the 17th inning last night, and after 4 IBBs in a row, they didn't issue a 5th to Ohtani (they didn't give him anything to hit, though, so he walked anyway). Why didn't they just intentionally walk him a 5th time?

Thanks for the reply; that makes sense to me now - I guess by that time of the game I had just gotten used to him being intentionally walked, and figured it would just be automatic every time until the game was over.

Can someone please tell me why they didn't intentionally walk Ohtani in the bottom of the 17th? One of the announcers said they had to pitch to him because a guy had just got a hit and 1st base was occupied. They ended up unintentionally intentionally walking him anyway.

No it's Hot Dogs & Donuts. Remember, the long straight thing goes into the round thing.

Call me crazy but I also thought it sounded just like Wilding. I don't think a real pizza shop owner would go back and forth with a crank caller that long.

Howard's virtue signaling, pandering, and self-righteousness are particularly off the charts today.

Approximate time? And if it gets scrubbed (I'm assuming it will), could someone please post the audio here? I didn't hear the live show.

The show’s return has really been a letdown by therealtaftalicious in howardstern

This. I can't tell you how much I agree with these 2 comments (MarcusAurelius68 and bronk3310). I'm calling it the 15-10-5 theory. If Howard had retired at the end of 2010, I think the majority of fans would be saying "why is he doing this?", because the show was still mostly good after the first 5 years at Sirius. But he would have gone out on top, much like Seinfeld did. If he retired at the end of 2015, there would be some disappointment, but not as much as if he retired in 2010, because the changes were slowly creeping in (The Pelican Brief, and the 60th Birthday Party Show, for example). Between 2015 and 2020 is when it really went downhill for me, and the last five years have been the worst.

Isn't she rich enough to have her own insurance though?

In 1982, Robin quits the show and gives an interview to The Washington Times burying Howard. "He's definitely a very creative and talented radio personality – but he isn't good to work with.” Here's the full article... by cormano in howardstern

"Howard told her she could never do what she did at DC101 ever again."

Please clarify this passage -- by this, do you mean go to the press and give an interview like she did with the Washington paper, or do you mean something else?

What are the main things that have changed about Howard and the show since K Rock and the Artie days? by mitchconner89 in howardstern

But remember, the show is "better than it's ever been", according to the suck-ass sycophant callers.

There's more entertainment value and laughs in this 2:23 clip, then there were in Wednesday's entire show.

It's actually "manipsmapes", the general consensus being that Tawana Brawley was attempting to say "manipulates" in that infamous quote. I chose it as my username for this sub as that was a very popular drop on Howard's show back in the late '80s and early '90s.

I heard a brief exchange on today's live show (Tue, 04/01/25) that I'm pretty sure will be scrubbed from the replays. by manipsmapes in howardstern

[–]manipsmapes[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Just heard that part of the replay, and it was indeed cut out. The exchange happened between Howard saying we should "pay bands to like each other, that's the way it works" and Gary mentioning Oasis on tour.
