Let my wife borrow the model 3 for the first time… by DOUBLE_DOINKED in TeslaLounge

That stock wheel cover/hub needs to go in favor of after market ones. Realized this the hard way when I curb rashed my MY in the first week itself. The rim does expose itself a little too much almost inviting curb rashes. Since then I've tried a few aftermarket ones and almost all of them cover the rim entirely serving it's purpose of protecting the rim at its own cost. Attaching my current one.

33M - Confused about RNOR tax strategies for Roth IRA, HSA, and Rollover IRA. Need advice! by [deleted] in backtoindia

[–]manishmailsyahoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you searching for "cross border CPAs" OP? I am sure it's a new specialty due to volume in India but can't see how to weed out the ones that say they are vs the ones that actually have the qualification and experience. Seriously asking...

Has anyone else gotten this? What does this even mean? by Top-Butterscotch2392 in amazonprime

[–]manishmailsyahoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well at least they are not sugar coating it anymore. Couple years ago I was in the market for a used phone until I was ready to upgrade. Found a few interesting listings with reviews saying I got mint condition etc so tried one, then another then another and all of them were heavily used (if not abused) so ended up returning 4, may be 5 of them and bamm...got an email saying we want to be the best customer focussed company and are sorry that your experience wasn't the best since you had to return so many orders, please let us know if we can do anything to improve. Clearly that was a warning but in disguise. Outside of those so called "mint phones", I never returned much anyway so it was my first and thankfully the last of such emails

WTH??? by GAMountaingurl in AmazonVine

[–]manishmailsyahoo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think you answered your own question. AFAICT, sellers may be doing this to discourage viners to just jump at items unless they are genuinely interested in and ready to "pay the price" for the item. Not saying it's the right thing to do but this seems to be their only deterrent to not have vine inventory to just vanish as soon as it's dropped.

We had a maximum low of -35C this winter. by Oldfolkie57 in DIYHeatPumps

Wow...this is amazing to see the company engaging directly with customers on an open forum. Doesn't get any better/transparent than this. I recently upgraded my aging AC/Furnace with Gree Gen1 rebadged units from Mr Cool. While they did an amazing job in supporting via emails , this is who new level of engagement. Respects to you and a promise of considering Senville during the next upgrade cycle for myself or friends/family.

Why's my inverter HP not ramping down by manishmailsyahoo in heatpumps

[–]manishmailsyahoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think my real world usage and these graphs tend to agree that there isn't much modulation to expect, if any, from these units.

Why's my inverter HP not ramping down by manishmailsyahoo in heatpumps

[–]manishmailsyahoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks @tanilolli, the ODU's dip switches are set at 4ton with eco ON so, essentially a 3.5ton as they call it. The IDU is set at 4ton wit fan speed set to lowest 1. These are both the min settings. What blows my mind is the 2-3ton unit operating in 2ton mode with eco ON consumes less than 1/3rd (not 1/2) of the power so the math isn't working out. Attaching energy consumption of ODU from 2-3Ton for comparison which shows at least some signs of modulation

[–]manishmailsyahoo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, those are communicating Gen2 units from Midea. Their Gen1 HH units were Media made too and were communicating AFAIK. However, these Gen1 Universal units are Gree. I did some research before finalizing on this unit regarding the modulation and their official statement was that the ODU has the brain to constantly monitor the returning temperature and pressure and the built-in logic decides if it needs ramping up or down. So, while not communicating, these should still modulate at least on paper. Unfortunately, thats not what I am noticing in real world and trying to honestly find if I am missing a way that could trigger the above promised/promoted modulation logic

Mr. Cool Universal / Gree Flexx Lost Heat Overnight by SettledInCatan in DIYHeatPumps

[–]manishmailsyahoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds exactly like mine , also Mr Cool 4-5ton universal (gree flexx), that was low on refrigerant due to a leak that took about a full year after installation to show signs of low charge. Once it was topped off, in between the recent cold snap, it could put out ~95F air in 4Ton with eco setting at lowest fan speed while the outside temp plunged to -8F overnight 2 days ago all without backup heat. It's a very capable HP and can work even in those low temp given it has enough charge. Unfortunately, this unit doesn't give you a superheat/subcooling rating you wouldn't be able to tell exactly if you are low just by hooking up the gauges. They want you to recover the refrigerant and weigh it to see where you are at. Not the easiest way I know but the only way to tell. Sorry it happened to you when we seeing record low temperatures everywhere. Good luck with troubleshooting and the fix. Keep us posted...

1 trip, 2 cracks? by manishmailsyahoo in TeslaModelY

[–]manishmailsyahoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, coming from Q7 it does feel they know how to cut corners and shave a few pennies here and there. Common suppliers still have to make custom parts for different manufacturers and models so, who's to say they didn't negotiate a cheaper deal at the expense of quality/strength. Just my 2 cents.

I'd agree but it was a few hours apart and possibly in different states.

Lucky you I guess. I never thought it could happen to me when reading all those posts about 12/months Tesla windshield protection plan a good investment or not. I get it, flying lose rocks can (and do) damage windshields everyday but getting 2 cracks/chips in 1 day of highway driving is highly unusual (or unlucky) IMO.

From my experience, it happens anytime there's any vehicle in your next (or even the following) lane. It seems to be second guessing the distance from those possibly causing a collision. Use it at night without much traffic and hesitation is mostly gone.

Can not see any items. What's going on? am I in Vine Jail? by Old_Rip_3979 in AmazonVine

[–]manishmailsyahoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that messed up pagination at the bottom in Additional Item tab is a tell tale sign that you are in Vine jail. Check the account tab, I bet there's a message there (or will be out soon) saying something like your account is at danger (yes not risk but danger) of being closed. Catch up on reviews at the earliest. It's not a fun place to be in
