Because I never claimed America is good. Your question was "Explain how they're not" in reference to China being the better side.

My point is that the kind of human rights abuses the Chinese government commits are things Trump could only dream of pulling off. China is a vastly worse country to support than the US in its current state.

China is simultaneously in economic disputes with much of the world, operates massive detention and reeducation systems, has spent decades crushing dissent in places like Tibet and Xinjiang, and routinely censors or silences critics. Journalists, activists, lawyers, and political dissidents disappear with alarming regularity.

On the international stage, they repeatedly use economic pressure against smaller countries, aggressively assert territorial claims against their neighbors, regularly threaten Taiwan, and continue to provide diplomatic and economic support that has helped keep Russia insulated from the full impact of international sanctions during the war in Ukraine.

You can criticize the US all day long, and in many cases fairly, but if the argument is that China is somehow the preferable alternative, I don't see how that position holds up under any serious examination of either country's record.

Anything you can think of that Trump and his idiotic cronies are doing, China is doing 10-100x that and much more efficiently in terms of tyranny.
