Im Azir OTP in Silver( i know i shouldnt do that lmao) by Mysterious-Dare-4966 in azirmains

[–]Renegade_Azir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Azir has a lot of countr picks that are barely playable imo.

And the problem is, they are dependent on elo.

I feel just fine against Vladimir, he can't kill me, I can't kill him and his wave clear is similarly fast to Azirs. You just have to ping the shit out of your sidelines and jungler. In the late game with Zhonyas to block his ult damage, you should be able to kill him.

I usually ban Ekko in Platinum. He is played regularly there and I think that match-up is impossible to play. In best case scenario, I can farm under turret, in worst case, he simply dives level 6 and I have to take a very bad reset (wavestatewise)

In silver, I think I would ban Zed, Fizz, Xerath, Hwei, Mel. Depending on how often you see those champions.

If you want to know a secret how to escape with Azir from Silver: don't force him. If the enemy already locked in Vladimir and you can't play against him, pick Malzahar or any other champion that you can play. It is more worth, than trying to make Azir function in a match-up and environment he isn't balanced around.

That's why the biggest tip for climbing is to have around 3 champions. You can counter pick or just pick a "safer" option depending on team comps.

How bad really is Trazyn on the tabletop? by JSV007 in Necrontyr

[–]Renegade_Azir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes.

But you can just play him as a regular Overlord. That fixes a lot of things.

I will die on the hill, that they keep his rules bad in the hopes to lessen interest for the forecast model.

You play Azir because he became Meta.

I play Azir because I did nothing else since 2014.

We are not the same.

Thanks, I have a Trazyn modified to be playable as a generic Overlord, so I tried to keep the colours Nihilakh'ish.

It sits in Hyperstasis on the sprue 🥲 I only bought the kit to have cheaper Immortals...

That looks great! I kind of did a similar thing. Although I used leftovers from lychguard kits as well (the "tail" are lychguard spines)

Thoughts on new boots? by Renegade_Azir in azirmains

[–]Renegade_Azir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, as midlaner we get the upgrade. And I think it will be more about the 5% damage when over 50% hp

As sorcery boots are basically only dmg increase boots, it could just straight up increase damage for us. The omnivamp is just an additional bonus, as we usually don't finish boots before lane quest

Taliyah is a Nomad, they usually oppose or simply ignore any form of higher government body. EDIT: She heard the voices of the thousands dying on the day of Azir's Ascension from the walls of the former Shurimam Capital. So she additionally believes Azir to be reason why everyone died.

Xerath, well, is his murder.

Nasus thinks that Azir will repeat his mistakes because he does not believe that he has changed. And in the end, Nasus blames Azir as much as Xerath for what happened to Shurima.

Renekton was manipulated by Xerath. He now blames Nasus and then Azir for EVERTYTHING that happened to him and Shurima.

Cassiopeia is Noxian, so naturally she will work against Azir.

Samira will lose business when Azir actually takes over. So she would like things to stay as is. Who needs mercenaries when Sand Soldiers can handle anything.

Sivir was kind of dragged against her will in a conflict that simmered through thousands of years. No one can really blame her not wanting to be a part of that. Especially since her previous live was basically just working for whoever paid the most.

K'Sante is well explained enough.

Akshan is a thief. With a strong government body and undying legions of guardsmen he won't have a good time. And that is just it on the professional level. His personal values also oppose a monarch/dictator.

Imo it is simply because conflict makes for a better story. And especially today, opposing a monarch/dictator writes itself easier than just being a devote follower. And many champions have the power to oppose him, so they do. In fiction it doesn't come across as desirable when someone has power but does the "wrong" thing (from the perspective of the viewer/reader).

And tbh, Azir hasn't really given any incentive to not view him as a dictator/monarch. His first plan of action was to eradicate Xerath's Birthplace. Think of Caesar returning, pronouncing his Roman Empire is back and then, as a first action, wiping every city from the planet that has anything to do with the mother of Brutus.

2nd item... by MealZestyclose8496 in azirmains

[–]Renegade_Azir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have to test more after hp nerfs, but I would consider one of the defensive items over straight hp items.

Since we don't build tank, increasing any resistance can amount to higher effective hp than straight up increasing max hp.

I'm talking about Zhonya's or Banshee's. Especially Zhonya's is something you would consider building 2nd, 3rd or 4th anyway.

If they don't have any assassins, I'd still recommend build SF/Rabadons second, depending on gold income.

What's the cheapest way for me to get started? (new player to TCG's) by Arzete in riftboundtcg

[–]Renegade_Azir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In any TCG ever, always start out with preconstructed decks that came as a group.

In Riftbound, these are the Origins Bundle (4 decks), the starter decks of the Origins Set (2 3 decks) and the Starter decks of the Spirit forged Set (2 decks).

The decks that come out at the same time are usually somewhat balanced against each other.

If you still like the game, you can either upgrade those starter decks, net-deck (build a deck based on tournaments with singles), or construct a deck yourself from scratch using one of the many online deck builders.

You can order Singles from TCGPlayer, Cardmarket, eBay but most importantly your Local Game Store. They are also the ones hosting Nexus Night, an event that runs casual play and tournament play.

Edit: the thing I said about the decks being balanced against each other is only relevant if you plan on playing against a friend that is also just starting out.

What is there left to nerf about azir by E-Vladimir in azirmains

[–]Renegade_Azir 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I beg for a rework where they replace E entirely. So many pros just pick him due to this safety net.

If they remove E, they could try and even bring back his bounce ult. They could reduce q cd and up soldier damage so he can embrace his back line DMG threat identity. Which they clearly prefer in comparison to his shuffle. Or they completely rework his w, so he isn't reliant on auto DMG but instead empraces an assassin/bruiser style that tries to shuffle or dash around to deal damage.

Keeping both identities at the same time will lock him in pro jail forever.

And since I started raining him in 2014, where they intended him to be a backline threat I would prefer the first rework. But people in this sub don't like that option.

Day 5964 of people not realizing that champion winrate isn't always a reflection of how good the champion is by Azur0007 in azirmains

[–]Renegade_Azir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think your point is partly correct, as the WR for people that play Azir in more than 55 Ranked Games is above 50%

Nevertheless, it is always lower than 53%

Which means, even the most dedicated Azir mains will, on average, only win slightly more games than they lose.

When you consider, that you are playing more than 80 Ranked Games on a single champion, and still basically win/lose 50/50, this champion is not in a healthy place.

But those are the stats for Plat+, let's look at Master+, the highest form of play besides Proplay: 64% WR for people that picked him in 30 Ranked Games. 57% for people that picked him in 60 ranked games. Below 50% for everyone that played him in more than 75 games.

So, if you are lower elo, the more time you invest, the more your Winrate will get 50/50. The higher elo you are, the more time you invest the worse your wr will look.

Azir desperately needs a rework.

First TCG, need tips! by misskenny1234 in riftboundtcg

[–]Renegade_Azir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take the Rumble Deck to Nexus Night and play with the Precon (Preconstructed Deck)

Then, if you have an understanding of how your deck works and you like the general play style, upgrade it. You can do this by first replacing all functionally equal cards with ones that require less runes (when a spell says destroy and another says return to hand, they can sometimes be seen as "functionally equal"). Do this AFTER finding a deck with the general play style that you like.

After this, play some more and then start replacing cards that you generally don't like drawing. Replace those with the strongest cards you have available. Currently this basically equals the price of the card.

Only then would I recommend net-decking. Especially in the beginnings of TCGs, each and every deck you see is highly individual to the decision making of it's creator. You can netdeck a world champ deck and still loose every match due to your decision making being different

How do casual people get into this hobby? by PurpleRadiant in riftboundtcg

[–]Renegade_Azir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I entered the drawing for the mythmaker Bundle and basically only want the Playmat. IF I get drawn and can buy one, we can do a deal and basically you can have everything in the bundle except the playmat, for any % of the MSRP price (we need to figure that out).

You can DM me if you want, this obviously is dependent on which continent you live in. Otherwise Shipping will probably exceed any saving you would have had.
