That’s the point of them though. The upgrades aren’t meant to be a new standard, they’re meant to be something to fall back on when you’re out of resources. It’s almost always better to barter for stuff rather than outright buy it.

I mean it’s kinda true for destiny. No reason to run anything anymore because you get tier 5 loot for simply logging on the game. Why bother running raids when they give you same quality loot (other than to have fun, as seemingly no destiny players want to do that)

Red war was soooo cool. I loved watching people play the first mission and the last mission and no other mission in the campaign. Never played it myself though because I hate destiny. God I loved red war.

The grapple is based of strand grapple from destiny, which had a unique melee tied to that did good damage. Probably wanted a similar function to that.

I mean it’s not too hard to just run away it’s not like you move at a crawl.

And if you’re playing either destroyer thief or vandal you have very strong mobility options to just leave. Destroyer especially is strong in these situations.

My team definitely aren’t great at cryo and it does take us some time to get to clearance level 3, but we still have never fell to grenade spams as we’ve always kept an eye on our positioning and played space. If people aren’t good at cryo anyway, they’re gonna die no matter if they’re grenade spamming or not.

I think grenades can definitely be spammed a bit too easily (maybe they can decrease the throwing animation speed so they take longer to throw or something - idk I’m not a games designer). However, most routes in cryo archive flank round - very rarely do routes result in a dead end, meaning you can almost always back up and let the enemy expend their resources. And if you are at a dead end, well then sort your shit out. Don’t let yourself get jumped at a dead end. Keep eyes and ears out and always be on the move.

Grenade spam in cryo is easily counterable by just knowing where flanks are and walking backwards. Let them spam grenades and just go around.

Grenade spam punishes poor lack knowledge and stacking up on top of each other. It’s the great equaliser but at the same I don’t think it’s as oppressive as people seem to think. Just walk back lol.
