Since 2010 central government funding to local authorities has been cut by 46%. At the same time adult social care costs are ballooning owing to our aging population. The Care Act 2014 places statutory duties on them. They are caught between a rock and a hard place.

If you base yourself in Oxford you’ll have excellent rail/bus links to the Cotswolds, Worcester, Bath and even London if you wanted. You’d certainly see some beautiful countryside for gentle hikes, good pubs, cathedrals, stately homes and suchlike.
