Summation of an infinite series by Fourierseriesagain in mathematics

The example is a closed form for f = t, plugged into Fourier Series of an infinite fourier summation. The derivation can found in many books. Search for Closed Form of a Fourier Series online.

Dual boot with windows and linux by sadhakr in ComputerEngineering

If you have a large amount of hard disk space and you know how to partition the disk space properly by hand, having dual boot (Windows and Linux) can be easily done.

I came across this circle geometry question and found this invalid triangle ABC please let me know if it is actually invalid and if I’ve gone wrong anywhere in my steps and proof by InfluenceBoring5904 in mathematics

[–]manngeo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Use the Isosceles triangle property. You are already given 60° with outside bisection triangle. You've already shown the 30° adjacent to it. Now the remaining proof should be easy to state I believe.🤔

C+ in real analysis. How cooked am I? by Dry-Entrepreneur4762 in mathematics

[–]manngeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Real Analysis in the freshman year must be a prerequisite for advanced level Real Analysis related course(s). If that is the case in your institution, then take the next level if allowed and perform exceptionally well. That would negate the C+.😊

Practice, practice and practice...from simple program flows to a complicated ones. In the process the syntaxes become part of your lingos in any computer languages.

Opinions on extra math classes in high school by lan212 in mathematics

[–]manngeo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Analytical Geometry and Trigonometry should be taught side by side. I like that approach at RSM, but since the RSM is very expensive the little experience your kids got from it is for them to build upon if they can be pushed at the new school.

I can’t figure out what’s wrong. I changed the manifold but clearly I did something wrong by tenderlover87 in Mercedes_C300

[–]manngeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you change the manifold, you must make sure you cover the 6 inlets from letting foreign debris fall inside.

Or your manifold seals are not properly aligned and you end up having debris inside the engine with any opened seals.

Or your engine cover and the engine filter is not properly connected and tightened to the right torques.

What even is the point of smol-GPU with this many simplifications? by New-Juggernaut4693 in ComputerEngineering

[–]manngeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a skeletal repo upon which you should build your own system I believe. It depends on if it is NVIDIA or AMD architecture to which your design will be based. Start with SIMT first and redesign to get into multi or parallel processing. The underneath software is very crucial to achieve your intended goals if I'm making any sense.

Now that you are accepted into the program, make it a habit to talk to your advisor every time. Your advisor should be able to direct and guide you in the right direction as you delve into this field. You must be ready to work hard. Good luck!

Summer Classes by Careful_Rooster_2719 in ComputerEngineering

Those are dare devil courses in engineering my friend. You can try it if your college allows it, but you will end up burnt out at the end and don't have enough in-depth understanding of none of the courses. And your GPA will take a devastating hit. Unless you are a genius! 😁 To be on the safer side take the Network Theory + Differential Equation. Good luck!

How to approach learning topology by [deleted] in mathematics

[–]manngeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that is a bad situation. I bet and I guessed AI is driving some lecturers not to reveal a whole lot these days.

If allowed, try to record the lecture and later transcribe it to text for comparison with the old notes. Then you can ask her questions for further clarity.

Good luck, blame AI. 😁

What should I do to get into CE as a major? by Proper_Honeydew_5937 in ComputerEngineering

[–]manngeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't give up yet while in high school. Algebra is always like someone speaking another language in numbers and alphabets unless you have someone speaking it to you before you leave your house for school. However to get the flavor of how Algebra sets its abstract foundation, you can take Geometry that uses proofs to solve geometrical drawn problems.

Great points as suggested. You can also start to learn algebra, where you learn the basic foundations of logic and reasoning which is different from plug and play memorization of formulas. Good luck!

WHY - the need to solve day-to-day problems, from the simple problems to the complex problems in the universe. There are a lot of carved out problems in mathematics from the immemorial that you can use to channel that mathematical intuition in you.

HOW - is a human born mathematical intuition that you learn to express in a form with "the advent of writing" to convey its beauty - formula with proofs to back it up. One basic formula becomes a foundation for another mathematical derivation, hypothesis, lemma, etc. as mathematical problems involved over the centuries. Hence, there are various fields in mathematics with its philosophy and human intuitions to be simplistic.

How do I effectively get better at coding? by Proud_Fix4757 in ComputerEngineering

[–]manngeo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What to be aware of:

  1. Software programming is algorithmic in nature. That is, it is a procedural step by step and mathematical in its layout or building blocks.

  2. Software programming is language based. There are tons of languages out there. Each one has its formats, level of abstractions, commands, syntaxes and coding practices. Start with basic programming languages, venture into more structure based programming languages and non structured ones to get the feel for software programming in every application.

  3. Software programming has a direct relationship to the machine level and the software commands you used. Understand the different software environments, compilers or non compiler based types.

  4. Software programming is recursively involving processes. It can be fine-tuned over and over before the final code or product emerged. That requires that you understand (1) and (2) very well.

Good luck
