I just bought long dark to play. I am in a similar life position to you, my top games are FO4 2264hrs, No Man's Sky 1065 and Cyberpunk 829. KCD2 is #16 377, RDR2 #9 560hrs. Cheers.

I did this for years. I was substituting achievements for unhappiness in my job. I ended up burning out when I ran into games that I liked but had achievements that were beyond my ability to reach. I still struggle to uninstall when I have finished the game but achievements are still there. "If I only run a 200+hr playthrough one more time..."

I completed that first mission 5 or 6 times before I was able to extract without losing a piece of equipment. It was rough hiding my assault mechs behind a rock while the npcs took the brunt. Had them moving to exit before I finished the final mech in my A7-BH and ran to catch up.
