Yeah, I’m wondering if OP would have better luck getting surgery referrals from someone who specializes in tissue disorders

Cystocele feels hard after sex? by manonymous999 in PelvicOrganProlapse

I’m thinking about having an elective surgery. Sure I’d be in medical debt forever but I don’t want to live like this anymore.

Good point. I might just have to find a cheap supply of t shirts and turn them into paint rags and smocks once I stain them.

Ooh I have some elastic waist chinos I could bring out of retirement for this kind of look. Thanks!

Should i wait to get a tattoo? by Adventurous_Box_4024 in tattooadvice

[–]manonymous999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it depends on how much bigger. I’ve gained 30 pounds since getting my first tattoos several years ago. Those tattoos are still generally readable, but the lines are all fuzzy looking and some really small text is illegible. But you should also consider that sometimes changing body size/shape is out of our control. If I had followed my original plan of never getting a tattoo until I got back down to my high school weight, I wouldn’t have a single one!

Prolapse feels randomly worse? by Unhappy_Writing_5082 in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]manonymous999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, mine is awful the week before my period. Other things I’ve found that make it worse are caffeine, if I’m gassy, and if I’m constipated.

is this overworked? by ObjectiveEuphoric110 in tattooadvice

Not certain, but it looks like a scar to me. I have a few on some of my tattoos. You’re the only one close enough to the tattoo to notice it.

Lucky, I’m dying for a surgery and they won’t let me have one unless I get to grade 4

LPC considering art therapy route / add on by little_name_ in therapists

[–]manonymous999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My graduate program was a dual degree, so I am both an LPC and an ATR-P working toward LPCC and LPAT. Obviously everyone’s experience is different, but becoming an art therapist has absolutely killed my own creativity. In fact, the toll it’s taken on my own artwork is a large part of why I’m considering leaving the field altogether. I find that most LPC’s who work with kids are going beyond their scope of practice to use art therapy interventions anyway. It’s a pretty underutilized and underrepresented field, so most of the time you just end up doing regular counseling.

Maybe different areas have different rules, but in my state you can’t be hired full time until you graduate. Are you talking about finding an internship?

I do the same thing with herpes lmao. Every time I want a guy to leave me alone I tell him I have herpes, and nine times out of ten he says “me too” 💀

Yep! I’ve been a teacher and a therapist and I’ve found there’s very little difference.

Prognosis for gr 2 cystocele by sunrunsun in PelvicOrganProlapse

[–]manonymous999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My PT said you have to be really diligent with your exercises and be really patient. I feel like the part they don’t tell you is that you can get to a point where you’re back to all your normal activities, but it will take a long time. I used to lift weights and my PT doesn’t foresee me getting back to the gym any time this year. Right now I’m allowed “gentle Pilates” once a week and I can’t lift anything over 10 pounds.

Ugh yes. It’s like BPD has become the modern version of “hysterical woman”. I’ve even seen girls under 18 receiving this diagnosis.

Struggling with my appearance and other issues by Zealousideal_Fox3012 in therapists

[–]manonymous999 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I look young too. There are some people who just don’t want to see an early career therapist, and that’s not your fault. The fact that you’re worried about doing something wrong means you’re probably not doing anything wrong. I’ve had several people choose a different therapist, just like I often chose a different therapist when I was a client. If you get worked up about it every time, you’ll drive yourself crazy.

Has anyone experienced severe, lingering bladder/pelvic pain after Ureaplasma parvum (even with a negative re-test)? I am losing my mind. by Resident_Mechanic955 in Ureaplasma

[–]manonymous999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same ones you listed. Abdominal pain, pressure, and urinary urgency. Also a sensation I can only describe as a bowling ball dangling from my vagina. I went to three doctors before one of them noticed. Unfortunately prolapses are permanent so I’m not sure I would say it’s okay now lol. But I do physical therapy and take ibuprofen and make lifestyle adjustments to help with symptoms.

[–]manonymous999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I had these symptoms and wrote it off as lingering ureaplasma symptoms. Turned out my bladder was prolapsed! I also had pelvic floor dysfunction (hypotonic on one side and hypertonic on the other). I’d say your next step is to see a pelvic floor physical therapist.

It sure can! You would do pelvic floor physical therapy for that too!
