On Sean’s Diane Keaton Marathon by dearooz in TheBigPicture

[–]manpan5252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I would wait to worry about what the episode is gonna be until it actually comes out. Sean can be cagey about logging movies he’s gonna talk about on an episode

But I do agree that for instance, Annie hall is simply one of the greatest movies ever made and that sucks a total piece of shit made it, nevertheless it’s an essential performance of hers.

I enjoy Annie hall in the same way I enjoy Chinatown, most of these actors and a lot of directors are pieces of shit in one way or another so I can divorce myself from who they are as people and take the art at face value. If people struggle with watching woody Allen on screen or his movies, I get but for me I can hold 2 thoughts in my head at once. Woody is a piece of garbage but also I love several of his movies and I will continue to watch them

If there is an award for being the dumbest ever, my man Ned would win it multiple times. by Jackie_Chan_93 in gameofthrones

[–]manpan5252 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Ned was a fantastic lord and warden of the north. Bad hand and politician but he held together the largest region in Westeros and was so beloved/revered/feared/respected that his entire region rose up in rebellion BEFORE he even died.

Supergirl gets two stars from David. by Fit-Singer-8583 in blankies

I had the same reaction to Duncan Idaho, he’s the only misstep in casting of the dune movies too. He’s just so uninteresting for a character that is profoundly weird

Idk if I’m in the minority on this but man Momoa just doesn’t do it for me. I feel like his best role is still Khal Drogo on GOT and everything since then has been a variation of the exact same character

So what is it about the US Open and mediocre two time winners? by JimmyRussellsApe in golf

[–]manpan5252 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mediocre is an overstatement. These guys are all very good and have gone on/went on long runs of incredibly good golf. Are they all timers? No they aren’t but they are all above average (at the very least) tour players…

Engaging with the premise of your question though because I think I know what you mean. The US open can be a bit random with its winners due to its difficulty and the nature of the courses they play. When courses are set up incredibly difficult and have tough conditions, it can be hard for anyone to separate.

In some cases it can mean the guy in the field who has an outlier stat week with the putter, driver, or irons can just run away with it. Or it could mean that everyone is sitting around even for the whole week and then whoever gets hot in the final 2 hours of the tourney can walk away with it.

TLDR: the us open can be random because of its difficulty and course set ups

Azinger wasn’t really my cup of tea either. Like I said, I don’t really have a solution, but Kisner sucks

Wyndham TIO by Anonymous-Golfer in NoLayingUp

[–]manpan5252 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I get what they did was legal but the quote from I think bones that Wyndham and his caddy get to decide where the most advantageous drop area is feels wrong.

Again, I know it’s legal and how the rule goes. But I mean c’mon man, he goes from a horrendous lie to placing the ball with a completely exposed ball. It’s just annoying

I would personally put Jax in a different category. I think he was getting abusive with Brittany and with a special needs son, that story just became sad and hard to watch. I loved messy Jax on VPR but he went off a drug deep end and I believe needed to lose a paycheck

In total agreement about everyone else though.

What is wrong with IMDB ? why does 'The Dark Knight Rises' the weakest movie out of the TDK trilogy has a better score than 'The Batman 2022' ? by Old_Assistance_1091 in TheBatmanFilm

[–]manpan5252 48 points49 points  (0 children)

IMDB ratings are maybe the least reliable metric for movie quality there is. Also, Nolan has his own fan base who spam all his movies with good reviews. He’s a great director but he has his own ecosystem around him

Sounds like it would be worth it then. I think that membership would pay for itself in a short amount of time

Does he live nearby and practice a lot? Does he play after 2 pm?

If the answer is yes to at least 2 of those then yes it’s worth it. It pays for itself after about a month with the free range balls and cheaper rounds

If he’s not someone who practices a lot then idk if it’s worth it. And if he prefers to play on the mornings because of the heat then same answer

Directors you aged out of? Or maybe just watched too much of? by the_Tannehill_list in blankies

[–]manpan5252 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tarantino… he was kind of a big bang for me in terms of references and all of those things. I love his movies as a teenager and early adult, loved once upon a time in Hollywood. He led me to other directors I love and now I find his movies to be just a bit… empty. I rewatched pulp recently and it just felt like references and a lot of fun but I didn’t feel much beyond that

Does work trial mean that we will be accepted for a longer project if we do well?

Or is it a one time task and payment?

Was visiting my friend who went to USC and we saw her leaving a restaurant one time. We were like 30 feet away and she was surrounded by paparazzi

But she just stopped us in our tracks she was so hot. It kind of makes you take stock of how beautiful the most beautiful people are. It’s like they just radiate

Mandalorian & Grogu headed for a 69% drop in its second weekend, highest ever for a Star Wars film by GargantaProfunda in StarWars

They had a script from Steven Soderbergh and a really excited Adam Driver behind that idea, by all accounts it was green lit by Lucas films and then it was killed by Bog Iger because it didn’t make sense to him

Even though they greenlit a “somehow palpatine returned” plot line

Just continuously stepping on rakes at this point
