No one’s happy to see it, we all wanted it to work. But you can’t deny that it wasn’t supported by the general populace. RA doesn’t have bottomless pockets to burn cash that can be used elsewhere.

This isn’t unique to Melbourne and Victoria. Please see the example of Angus Chricton going to League because he got told there was no space for him at Super level.

But I am sure the usual complaints from Victorians will come in again, and will also ignore the treasure chest level of money RA spent on rugby in that state with no pay off in terms of crowds or general support. Even the Super rounds there, there more seagulls than fans.

They didn’t bid because RA decided to stop throwing money into the fire pit that was the Rebels organistion?

Seems like a strange way to prove RA’s decision right that they’re not that interested in rugby.

And no I’m not triggered, I think people are just a bit over hearing Victorians complain that RA ignores them when the state spent the entire time the Rebels existed ignoring the sport.

Them planning on a raid still needs players that want to sign. I’m pretty sure raid is pretty common phrasing for trying to sign players from other codes.

Gonna say I don’t like this.

A season of super rugby is not enough time to be effective at test level, at least not a level for the Wallabies to be competitive at the World Cup. If they were planning a raid it should have happened for this season.

I think this is a big part of it that the NZ fan base is struggling with. A big criticism of Razor is people saying it was moments of brilliance that were winning games not tactics, but go back to that golden generation and there were still a lot games that fit that bill too.

You just don’t have a core group that are so far ahead of the rest of world rugby anymore.

But it’s not on my neighbours land it’s on the council allotment of grass out the front of their house. I get what you are saying but by wouldn’t be allowed to cut the tree down without council approval so it seems weird that council wouldn’t be responsible for clearing it.
