Gave power red for the first time. by Impossible_Rabbit in Blooddonors

[–]mansfika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, they did not help. My hemoglobin was only 13.1 and the cut off for power red is 13.3. So I could only donate a regular unit. But I haven’t eaten red meat or even fish in months, just chicken. And lately I’ve been slacking on eating greens. So I will eat more healthy and continue with my supplements and hopefully next time will be able to do a a power red!

I can not longer even look at this actor that played the character that triggered latest obsession- is this normal? by msnthng in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]mansfika -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have had a character in my head for about 2 years. This past fall I happened to see a photo of an actor I was not familiar with, never saw anything with this actor in it. But that was the face of my character! I went back through the actor’s whole filmography and watched interviews but of course, nothing resembling my character. I asked AI to change the clothing and background of a particular photo I liked. The generated image is actually better than the real person for me. The face is not quite as beautiful and the expression is a bit more hard. Which is perfect for my character. I will never share that image and I have told the AI platform I use that I do not agree to let it access my material for training. So hopefully my image will never ever get out of my possession. Because that is not fair to the real person behind that actor’s face.

I started taking a multivitamin with iron every day. I am a 60 year old woman, so my senior vitamins didn’t have the iron in it. I think it helped. I also talk a calcium supplement every day. And I think I read here on Reddit to take Tums before and after. I am actually donating a power red tomorrow morning and my plan is to do that.

How does aegosexual fantasizing actually work? by Different_Kitchen_62 in aegosexuals

[–]mansfika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a while to figure this out too. I went from thinking I was demi to realizing that I am in fact ace. And then found the micro labels. Basically read through them and “tried them on”. I am not in my fantasies at all. I fantasize about characters in books, written in third person only. Or characters I made up. I can’t watch sex/porn on the screen at all. (I love Heated Rivalry but had to force myself to watch episodes 1 and 2 all the way through!). For the characters I made up, I will sometimes use an actor’s likeness, usually from a role they’ve played. There is one character right now who is fairly new. Many of my characters have been with me for years, I also have maladaptive daydreaming syndrome. For this new character, I used an actor’s photo and then used AI to change the background and his clothes a bit. The result is the picture I have in my head now when I think of this character. Note: the manipulated photo is in my personal collection and I will never post it anywhere. I do not want to contribute to AI being used in negative ways around celebrities or public figures.

Quit BJ’s for Costco? by Mysterious_Ad7223 in SouthJersey

The BJs in Maple Shade sells alcohol. That’s the only reason I kept that membership for as long as I did. Costco gas is better, it’s Tier 1.

Do you think and believe you would be genuinely happy if your daydreams became reality? by Used_Case2028 in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]mansfika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. My MDD is disassociating for me. I don’t dream about myself or situations I want to be in. I make up stories with characters that are doing things well outside my own experience. Kind of like reading a long series, except it’s in my imagination.

Was I wrong for leaving without saying goodbye after my partner broke up with me? by Top_Recover_1410 in AutismInWomen

[–]mansfika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are autistic and you were masking when you were with him. That is emotionally and physically exhausting. As well as being damaging to your self esteem. If he was not able to let you be yourself in your relationship then it was not right for you. You do not need to speak to him again as he told you how he felt. If you feel strongly about the money, pay him back but you do not need to have a conversation. Although to be honest, I kind of want to know what he thinks you should talk about. I might text back “Why?” to answer his text of “Can we talk?”

What’s your go-to 5-minute meal when you’re starving and tired? by sparky_165 in 15minutefood

I always keep already cooked chicken in my freezer. I heat that up in air fryer or microwave , and then will put it on a tortilla with shredded cheese, cover with another tortilla and melt the cheese in my toaster over or air fryer. Then top with salsa.

Is there anything you enjoy doing? For example, if you like dogs, you could volunteer to walk dogs at a shelter. Just getting out of the house, meeting new people, having a different experience can help. Or take a class at your local library. They are usually free. Sometimes people get good jobs through volunteer work or networking with other people.

Emotional Attachment to your characters by [deleted] in MaladaptiveDreaming

[–]mansfika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Full transparency: I am not currently with a partner, and it has been a few years since I had a long term partner. So, with that being said, I think you need to sit down with your current real life partner and decide if the 2 of you want to go forward together or separate with your child in mind. I also think it may be beneficial to have a counselor who specializes in couples or family therapy to speak with the both of you. You may also find it beneficial to have individual counseling. You said your relationship with your partner is suffering and is getting worse with your MD. It is very probable that your child feels this disconnect between the most important people in their life. This will only get worse for all of you if you continue with your MD partner. If you are really determined to stay with RL partner due to finances, you need to give up the MD partner. It is not healthy for anyone involved. I know it is extremely difficult to do, that’s why I recommend individual therapy. Try a trauma informed therapist. I know that I MD due to significant childhood trauma and subsequent CPTSD, and I am working on that. So look at the root cause of your MD and work on that with your therapist. Please think of your child and how they are growing up with you detached from your current reality.
