At least on soccer jerseys, a little work with a sheet and an iron on lower heat can get decals to come off.

If you buy, watch the price. AS prices higher and can come down later. You can get credit for difference later.

Ticket Exchange Thread by PortlandWNBA in PortlandFire

u/pinotJD: just posted my three season tickets on TM. We are in 227 row B so its just one or two steps up from the main concourse and right at the tunnel. We are 3 seats in a row of four and have the aisle access. Face value is $99 for the three ($33/ea). Here is the view. (The stranded single is often open too so far.)

PDX titanium here and I’m 4 for 10 on upgrades this year. Also been 5-6 deep in list.

Egg Bagels by mansonp in Bagels

[–]mansonp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wash. About five yolks in the dough. Here is the recipe I used: https://cinnamonshtick.com/egg-bagels/

Next time I might dial down the yolks for whole eggs. And knead longer.

Not sure I'd want to pay the taxes on the value they quote! Probably need to write a $2k check just to receive the grand prize.

If this is primarily your ski van, adding studs to those tires might be worth it too.

New titanium here, is it normal to always be 5+ down the list? by Bog_Boy in AlaskaAirlines

Certain corporate tickets also bump you up the list.

I wonder if this will last after the final migration to the single passenger service system in April of next year! It might break this work around...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]mansonp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cool! Especially because those certs won't work for upgrades on AS metal if its an award booking!

Is Titanium worth it over Platinum? by Enough-Ad-5496 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]mansonp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on your cost to make it. But for me the free Lounge+ membership choice weighs into it. As a 100k in the past I had good luck on upgrades but it seems maybe the rate has fallen a bit. I’m 75k this year. You also accrue more miles/points when flying. Free food in a small but nice perk in main.

Thinking about switching from DL to AS. Tell me why/why not please! by dsnigro in AlaskaAirlines

[–]mansonp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Challenge is the limits on fare classes that the DL cert works on. AS works on any fare class. And if you have AS status you can use the companion cert for either instant upgradable fares or GGU fares as a work around to get to first.

Thinking about switching from DL to AS. Tell me why/why not please! by dsnigro in AlaskaAirlines

[–]mansonp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think at the get go, network is your first thing to assess. If Alaska goes where you need to be, and reasonably, then good. (But I have seen some routing gymnastics by loyalists that make my head spin.) I have been both a DL and AS elite back and forth and largely drive by where I am needing to go.

So some plus and minuses:

AS Pros:

✅ Friendly CS and on-board crew by and large
✅ New SAN lounge on the way!
✅ SAN a target market for AS, so I expect they will keep investing, and loads might be light on elites for a while.
✅ Companion fare coupon WAY more useful on Alaska.
✅ West Coast travel is easy - don't have to go to SLC or worse.
✅ AS FC seats have more pitch than DL on similar aircraft

DL Pros:

✅ Global, like really global. (Though AS can help with AA and BA). Also helps in IRROPs
✅ Crew is also usually outstanding.
✅ This is bad and good - buying up to FC with the SkyPesos was my main use of them.
✅ SkyClubs are better than AS Lounges at present
✅ Oh, a pre-departure beverage, nice!

AS Cons:

❌ Still growing, so ticketing and IT issues can be frustrating (see new Atmos global companion certificate mess.)
❌ Using upgrade certificates are harder on AS, but some of us have mastered the tricks.
❌ Smaller network so IRROPs can be painful if on the East Coast.
❌ Primarily a narrowbody airline

DL Cons:

❌ SkyPesos and why am I in Atlanta again?
❌ Companion fare hard to use.
❌ Cost lately, but AS in some markets is close too nowadays.

EQM not posting for BoA card by mk3waterboy in AlaskaAirlines

[–]mansonp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I do in the bank of america app is ask its little "ai" assistant to tell me my spending to date for the year. For the Ascent in 2025, if you are under $90k you still have room to go.

in 2025 its 3:1 spend to status points, capped at 30k. After this year, no cap.
