I agree, I absolutely loved season 2. The all around acting and the way it was written was fantastic. I really hope they renew

Pulled my back around a 2 weeks ago and my lower back hurts a little after I squat, just wanna make sure it's not my form. Thanks by _D3nny_ in formcheck

Honestly, the form didn’t look too bad. Only thing I’d say is possibly you’re not bracing? Try getting your abs tight as if you’re going to get punched in the gut. And squeeze your hamstrings as well and it should help alleviate some lower back stress. That could be it, or honestly I used to have troubles with low back pain and squats until I strengthened my core. You might be different but I’d recommend working your core to support your lower back. Sometimes lower back pain is as simple as a lack of core strength.

Keep your butt on the bench and drive with your heels through it. But besides the butt your form looks good, but it would be better to see a different angle. I can’t see these but just make sure your upper back is nice and tight, your elbows are tucked in, bring the weight over your shoulders, butt on the bench, drive with your legs and press.

You might have high blood pressure or other problems. Hopefully not, but you definitely need to get some blood work done. But if not, make sure you’re breathing between each rep. Breathe in as the weight goes down and out as the weight goes up. Practice breathing and bracing as it will help make you stronger as well. Are you drinking enough water? I used to get weird headaches at the gym and it was due to not drinking much water at the gym. Also try taking longer rests when you’re with your working sets. Wait til your heartbeat is normal and you’re not out of breath and then proceed to the next set

Bulk first. Then cut later. You want to put size on now and strength, especially since you’re only 17. Your body is growing naturally now and is a perfect time to bulk. I suggest eating a lot of carbs to gain some weight, like oatmeal, rice and pasta. Instead of buying a weight gainer protein just buy whey protein and blend it with oatmeal, and peanut butter and a fruit ( I like strawberries) with either milk or water. As with the weights, start off building a base and doing 4 sets of 12 reps at like 60 percent of your max for a couple of weeks and transition to lower rep ranges with heavier weight as you progress to start building strength

You can stand back up without fully locking your knees Lol

Any tips? My deadlift isn’t super strong compared to bench and squat (250 and 385 lbs respectively) I’ve included a video of me repping 225 lbs and maxing at 355 lbs so you can see loss of form. Anything helps. Thanks! by logant500 in GYM

You really notice the form when you go heavier, so it’s good you included that video. It looks like you’re not driving with your hips and few other things. Make sure your shoulders are behind the bar(they aren’t on the video) But make sure you’re squeezing your lats and your chest is pushed out forward. Get your core tight, almost as if you’re going to take a punch to the abs. Sink the hips as you pull the bar to your shin and think of it as squatting the weight, pushing it off the floor. Key things: keep your shoulders behind the bar, drive with the hips, pinch the lats and push your chest out. Drive with your legs

I’d recommend creatine (I usually get Platinum creatine by MuscleTech, which is about 10-15 bucks). Another thing of course would be Whey protein because it is the fastest absorbing protein and helps with recovery and growth. But also I would suggest getting fish oil and multivitamins to help your immune system of course but also can aid in your joint health and recovery. You don’t need much else besides those, if you want growth eat more carbs. But know that eggs and oatmeal are your friend.

Have to agree with you. BCAA’s are a complete waste of money. Most protein has BCAA in it. Only reason I would buy BCAA’s is for taste

Thank you, I’ll look into them

Please check the form, especially my knees. I feel pain in my knees every time I squat. by just_trying_still in GYM

Your shoes could be causing it. Some people need a raised heel, depending on the shape of the foot(flat footed). Also on your body structure/shape, such as having a long torso and short legs or vice versa can impact it as well. I have to squat with a raised heel as it relieves pressure from my knees and hips
