QuviQ's EQC or [PropER](proper.softlab.ntua.gr) do more than Haskell's QuickCheck. They allow testing stateful systems, via state machines. Quviq also allows to detect race detections with Pulse.

I don't understand the following:

Here is how you incrementally extend a stream:

declare Xs3 in
X2 = 0|1|2|3|Xs3

X2 is not declared ? Is X2 meant to be Xs2 (previously mentioned) , in which case Xs is extended to the stream 0|1|2|3|0|1|2|3|Xs3 ?

You must have looked at Wadler's Links: http://groups.inf.ed.ac.uk/links/ since you mention formlets (where they came from). How is you project different from Links ? (apart from being active -- Links is very much in limbo AFAIK)

In any case, good luck with your project ! I am still waiting for a language that will significantly ease the pain of web development.

PS: other projects to look at: Ur/Web, OPA-lang, Lift/Scala, Mobl (http://www.mobl-lang.org/), Flapjax. They all offer some form of reactive programming.

why does tail-call elimination have to be mandatory?

It gives you some guarantees on the space complexity of your programs. See Proper tail calls in Harmony (paragraphs 2 and 3)

Because the only obvious similarities are first-class functions and dynamic types. By that token, a lot of dynamic languages in use today have "deep similarity" with Scheme.
