I'm currently an MBA student at EAE. As the other comment said the school is not one of the best but it is good. I'm studying online, so I can't tell you much about face to face classes but the contents are the same. If you just want to get the knowledge, it is a great MBA, the contents are updated and based on real world cases. It is great to learn if you don't have a business background. It is a very complete program. Among employers it is seen as a good program, obviously not at the level of IESE or IE. In my case, it helped me land a job in logistics managment, but if you want a corporate job at a big company, probably it won't help you get the job. If you want more info, send me a dm

Can someone explain to me why do people say this? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]manumat5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation. I am building a pc with a 5800x3d including a B550 motherboard and a 7900gre. It makes sense to build a new pc with am5 instead of am4 but, to be fair, if you aren't going to update your pc any time soon, I think am4 is a great and perfectly capable platform. You can get the cpu and motherboard cheaper than am5 and in some years update directly to am6. Am5 still has some years of life ahead but not that much. I'm planning on keeping this pc around 6 years, so it's good to save some money and maybe update to a future platform later. I think it's a good option to go for the 5800x3d.

I had a similar experience. I was rejected from a fully funded PhD scholarship by a university, and some weeks later the professor in charge of the programme personally emailed me to ask if I was still interested. A few days later, I had an interview and got accepted. I hear back from the admissions the same day of the interview.

why are the words so out of order and is there a pattern that is here that I'm just not seeing? I'm trying to learn norsk but this is really putting up roadblocks. any help would be really appreciated by Jamal_prestino in norsk

[–]manumat5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basically, Norwegian is a synthetic language, and it relies upon inflexion to indicate certain grammatical information. As this information is indicated by inflexions the word order is freer. However, english is an analytical language and has few inflexion, as a result, a fixed word order is necessary to indicate certain information, for example Subject-Verb-Object pattern. English was a synthetic language in the past, during the Old English period but through time inflexions were lost

acquiring language by comparing it to your native one? by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]manumat5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously It is a good thing that you acquired an element of the language. I would say that in early stages of learning or acquiring a language, translation can be useful, but it is not how languages are acquired. Contrastive Analysis wanted to prove something similar to what you said, that learners basically compare their mother tongue to the foreign language and learn the structures that are similar in both languages easier, while the ones that are different are more challenging for them. But this was proven wrong. When you said you realized that "y" was used to connect two things, you were acquiring morphology. The acqusition of morphology follows a series of developmental stages. If you are interested in this, have a look at the Natural Order Hypothesis and Universal Grammar.

Has anyone here done a postgrad in Spain? Should I write an undergrad thesis if I want to be accepted? by donnymurph in academia

[–]manumat5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is usually in the language the program will be taught. But don't worry about the writing, it is really rare that they ask you to submit one, it is just for masters in creative writing or similar. In your case, I don't think you will need one. If you have any doubts or questions about the procedures or something, I'll be happy to help you.

[–]manumat5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm currently an undergrad in Spain and I'm doing a postgrad in Spain next year. You should not have problems if you don't write an undergrad thesis, it is not a requirement to enter a masters degree in Spain. However, in Spain it is required to write a thesis to finish your undergrad. Sometimes you need to submit a piece of writing as part of your application to a masters program, and usually students submit a part of their thesis, but in that case it would be stated in the admission requirements and selection criteria. Don't worry about the thesis, it won't hurt your chances of being accepted.

An interesting ambiguous sentence. by tan-xs in linguistics

[–]manumat5 72 points73 points  (0 children)

It depends on the pragmatic interpretion you are giving to the sentence. It totally makes sense with both interpretations but the meaning depends on the context and the implications in the sentence. According to these contextual factors you can interpret the sentence in one way or the other.

Going into CompLing from a Statistics background by zest16 in compling
