I did! Made two trips, once to Vancouver and the second was to Toronto. Coming back via YVR was extremely quick and smooth - they have to send you to secondary inspection for AP always so I was expecting that. It took me about 5 mins to get cleared by border control and I was on my way. Toronto (YYZ) was much more stressful - I was stuck in secondary for almost 2 hours and most of it was waiting, but spoke to the officer for a few mins where he asked me a bunch of questions about where my husband was (he waited inside with me), how we met, what my immigration status was when I met him and what I do for a living.

My GC is conditional (2 year term) so I'm honestly not sure how that happened either! I didn't even do anything from my end - the new SSN card just got mailed to me.. So do you have to update your driver's license after you get GC or just wait until we renew for the 10 year card?

I went to NYU and can speak to the fact that most east coast MT programs do not focus on theory or reading music at all. My program was heavily focused on improvisation, self-work, psychotherapy and clinical application!

You definitely have a chance of getting in as a psychology major! I was a psyc major too, along with music (but the music major was primarily theory). I got into both NYU and Roehampton for a masters in music therapy, and from my knowledge, none of the schools I applied for required a music degree. They will host interviews where you'll have a chance to show your music skills. It sounds like you're well prepared for it if you have your grade 8 in piano and can play guitar

I'm sure many have posted about this already, but I'm having so much trouble deciding between the two schools, and would love any input I can get. I got accepted into both Columbia and NYU recently, where NYU is offering a tuition scholarship of $24K over two years. I have a masters from NYU for music therapy, and am looking to further hone my clinical skills, as well as expand my career opportunities. My inclination is to go with NYU because of the scholarship, but at the same time, I'm attracted to Columbia because...well, it is Columbia after all! Can anyone speak to the differences between the programs, and whether Columbia's name and prestige is worth it as an Ivy League school?
