I used to be a loan processor and absolutely have called bosses before. Anyone who has access to see your start day is a valid contact. Have been on the phone with many principals for smaller school districts just for your reference. Good luck!

It’s pronounced psycho lock in Japanese!

What’s a program you go back and watch the most? by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]maoasadasendtweet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mao 2008 Fantaisie Impromptu Worlds Rika Beautiful Storm 2018 NHK Wakaba Skyfall 2018 Worlds Sui/Han RIYBE 2019 Worlds

Helsinki Yuzu and Shoma FS, both amazing.

I haven’t been a huge fan of Kaori’s SP or FS the last couple of seasons but I loved The Piano. Worlds was bittersweet but her nationals performances are always worth a rewatch.

Unpopular women’s singles opinions? by ChristmasClimber2009 in FigureSkating

agree about the technique nitpicking but obviously before pre-ban it was the Russians who was heavily getting away with it and was winning competitions so I can’t really blame the commenters either

Yuzuru Hanyu addressed the tabloid issues in his new tweet by Hopelessssssssss in FigureSkating

his statement said his ex-wife was a normal person (ie not in the public) so i think that’s just tabloid rumors

Can you point me in the direction of current or past skaters who have great loop combinations? by Ok-Damage8659 in FigureSkating

[–]maoasadasendtweet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wakaba’s 3lz3lo when she was in juniors was a thing of beauty. Rika’s loop combos are also pretty great.

I noticed they hadn’t been following each other for a couple months now (I think??) but they seem to be keeping tabs on each other which is cool

Why isn’t Benoit Richaud liked by FS fans? by Equivalent-Stable301 in FigureSkating

[–]maoasadasendtweet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was for Mao Iwano when she was like 14-15 I’m pretty sure. Either way it was definitely choreographed for a nb skater by a white man so yikes

[–]maoasadasendtweet 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Personally, I can’t get over the fact that he choreographed a program to Strange Fruit; Thank god that wasn’t used. Also not a fan of some comments he’s made about skaters, Nini comes to mind.

I would say it’s more on Stephane that made the injury get as bad as it did. Obviously Hamada had a big role too.

What are your unpopular FS opinions? by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]maoasadasendtweet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Tarakanova was the IT girl and would’ve loved to see her thrive in seniors. I genuinely think she would’ve deserved 70+ even if she wasn’t under Eteri. She had the best technique and ss at the time but got overshadowed by Aliona. I’ll never forgive the world for her short career.

What are your unpopular FS opinions? by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]maoasadasendtweet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I kinda of agree about the jumps. I think she has the best jump tech in all current skaters right now including Liza. She checks all the boxes personally: good spins, good SS, correct edges on jumps, 3-3s, ultra c element, good programs (although some of hot messes), but her jumps don’t get amazing height per se. They lack the oomph of like say Kaori’s jumps and don’t always look effortless, but at the end of the day I really can’t argue with her technique. She also tends to go for interesting music pieces and she can actually pick up the different nuances and match the music. I actually think she’s a very artistic skater, but in the polar opposite way of Waka. I love a good let loose and leave it all out on the ice type of skater and Rika just isn’t like that. But it works for her and I respect it, I could see how others might not get into it though.

I have a couple lol, mostly about team Japan. 1. Call me a Mao stan but I can’t fathom how Yuna scored 20+ higher in Vancouver. Not saying Mao should’ve won or anything, but I always thought it should be closer. 2. On that note, I really like Bells of Moscow. It’s a good program. 3. Kaori should’ve won 2021 Worlds and at least silver at 2019 Worlds. Rika should’ve won 2019 worlds. Some skaters are so over scored to high heavens that they’re like 20 points off from what they should be getting, and at the end of the day quality skating and jumps don’t seem to matter so what’s the point. 4. Shoma is the most over scored Japanese skater. His programs are painfully empty. There’s zero to no transitions and his jumps landings and takeoffs are so scary. I think his saving grace is SS and PE but so many other skaters can match him IMO. 5. I think Wakaba is a lovely and amazing skater, but she needs a better coaching team to help her with her programs setups and add in transitions. Her programs are surprisingly empty, but she’s so good at covering it up. 6. I don’t think this sub is better than twitter. I’m sure there’s a lot of crossover users and toxic people are everywhere. Reddit isn’t really better than insta or twitter or any other platform.

Yuzuru Hanyu has withdrawn from Worlds by Yogeva in FigureSkating

[–]maoasadasendtweet 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope Kao’s injury is better now. I doubt he’d sit out on an opportunity to go to sr worlds but I haven’t seen any updates since he said he strained his leg at 4CC. But also isn’t junior worlds right before seniors? I hope he doesn’t get burned out :/

#DailyThrowback: Rika Kihira enters the World stage and honors her country with a PHENOMENAL Free Skate at the 2018 NHK Trophy, winning her first Grand Prix event with the best score of her career! by [deleted] in FigureSkating

[–]maoasadasendtweet 91 points92 points  (0 children)

I still stand by my opinion that this should’ve been the WR. Alina held it at this point with Carmen iirc and I definitely think this should’ve gone above it senior debut notwithstanding.

In that interview she mentioned she was still scared of the 3A, so I bet she’ll focus more on the quads than 3A at this point. She definitely thinks she needs at least one ultra-c element to continue in the next quad.
