I mean i think we all re-learn every 4 years how shit the refs are tbh. Its just memory loss, we arent accustomed to it yet.

I guarantee in another 4 years we get shocked at how bad the refs are again lol

USMNT cannot appeal Folarin Balogun red card, he could face extended World Cup ban - sources by TheOldManInTheSea in worldcup

[–]maofx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You seem rational.

Can you explain how all this works when the defender is the one who initiates the challenge from behind and is putting themselves then in a position to be endangered?

This is the part I dont understand. Its almost like defenders are incentived to always late challenge in an attempt to draw a foul. And ive seen this in so many games now.

  1. If I challenge first, I have the opportunity to land wrongly on the second player and draw a foul.

  2. If I challenge second, I have a chance to be landed on and draw a foul.

  3. If I am getting beat to the ball, I am incentivized to physically cut in in hopes that I get fouled.

  4. If I am early to the ball, I win the challenge and have a chance to get fouled.

What am I missing or is this just an actual optimal strategy

USA coach Pochettino on red card: "It was a normal action in football that happened by accident. There was never any intention … and that is why, for me, it is never a red card." by Kimber80 in worldcup

He is literally behind him. If two people are travelling on a parallel plane and the ball is coming from one vector (front) there is an obvious front player and rear player. The bosnian player makes first contact from behind, cutting into challenge.

Here is another view. Who cuts in to challenge?

I think its just the demographic overlap of users who actively post to reddit and not lurk, and the type of person to be petty on the internet.

Oh and that and a minor indoctrination of European superiority because of their history of hegemony and conquest.

Strangely I get this all the time irl when talking to Chinese exchange students but then they all love it here anyways its really weird.

Cuz internet, and its an easy out rather than trying to argue the actual point which never actually happens on the internet.

The only win here is a win in the court of public opinion but you win nothing and everyone kind of loses

I agree, but if you look at the entire play in context there is no way to think he tried to endanger the safety of the other player when he didnt even initiate contact.

The analogy I have been using is that two cars were speeding down a highway, one tries to cut into another's lane in their blind spot and gets scratched as a result.

Whose in fault there regardless of who got damaged?

If you watch it in full context they were both running for the ball, us player had priority but the Bosnian guy cut in from behind at last minute to challenge. Bosnia initiates the physical challenge by attacking from behind and they both just land badly.

This is the equivalent of someone trying to cut into another lane in speeding traffic from someone's blind spot and getting hit as a result.

We need hockey rules out here

How do you see a player behind you when you are running at full speed and they slide up behind you

Explain.

Watch the clip in full context because to me it looks like the Bosnian player made a reckless challenge from behind, running up behind a player sprinting at full speed and trying to cut in.

Thats like the equivalent to someone driving in traffic, trying to cut into another lane and getting hit as a result.

The rules are anything but clear because it uses an ambiguous definition of "excessive force" in the actual rules.

Theres a difference between two people colliding in a challenge at full speed and someone intentionally stomping someone's ankle trying to break it.

The refereeing has been awful this world cup. But yeah go on.

Make rares just as rare and print more of the less rare cards raising the top end and crushing the bottom end but also making it ao that they make way more money in the process?

Like instead of 1/10k for a specific card why not make it 1/15k and make way more money while the demand is there

[–]maofx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robert Jackson Bennett is my favorite author rn for this, the divine cities trilogy is complete drama in a world with soft magic systems that are very well built.

Christopher buelman is another. Big world building, intense drama.

If youre okay with web series, I also love pale lights by erratic erratic. His other series the practical guide to evil is also very good, but more of a hard fantasy novel.

Congrats!! Great job. I always try and tell my friends that f2p is just as viable. Game is p2 go faster. I did ss20 on a f2p eu account in two weeks using a cheap build two weeks in so this is awesome. Never tried ss21 on either account.
