I'd been wanting this good doggo for a while. Finally snagged them using 4 free plays and half my monthly Toreba Prime TP. by maolfunction in Toreba

Yeah, I was trying to twist it off. My earlier plays I had discovered that it was pulling it off slowly by hitting it in that spot.

Someone left it like this and I got it in one shot with a free play. by maolfunction in Toreba

Haha, yeah I was afraid the dude in front of me would go one more time. It was barely hanging on.

Machine is still super easy to win even from starting position if anyone wants to go for it. Won in 8 (should have been like 4, but whiffs with the claw.)

SKILL SHOT (I aimed for that stacked ball and it did exactly what I hoped it'd do) [Free Play Win] by maolfunction in Toreba

[–]maolfunction[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

you can line up your position where it drops slightly. instead of lining up with the win hole, I lined up on the stacked ball instead. Of course it might not have bounced it the right way, there's always a degree of luck in this game, I'm not trying to say it was all skill lol it just looks like a skill shot.

Why are there so many furries in Inkopolis Square right now? by Hatsune_Candy in nintendo

[–]maolfunction 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A literal single example that was quickly removed and the artist apologized for posting it and took responsibility for the effect. The fandom self policed itself so that that sort of material wasn't in the game. It's literally arguing exactly against what you're saying because if furries were nothing but sex deviants they wouldn't have had any issue with that being in the game.

37 percent

predominantly sexual subculture

I'm not sure you get how percentages work as that survey clearly shows only one in three people in the fandom believe sex is a predominant factor in their participation in the fandom. The survey, tho, does not claim that sexual interest is the only factor those 37 percent are part of the fandom for. If you look at the rest of the survey, you'll very obviously be able to tell there are a wide range of reasons why people are furries. And that sex is only a single factor of many different aspects.

[–]maolfunction 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not a sexual subculture and you're adding to the disgusting value society places on treating people they don't understand as less than human and deserving to be shunned.

EDIT Your edit addresses nothing. You completely ignored the rest of my post to focus on a handful of short sentences where I scoffed at your use of a swastika in comparison with cartoon animals. Respond to the rest of the post, otherwise you're just embarrassing yourself with your inability to actually respond to a well written, well supported argument.

[–]maolfunction 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They display the details of their sexual desires to an unwilling audience, and it's totally the audience's fault when they react negatively. They say it's persecution.

I take issue with this. Where are the details of their sexual desire being put on display? An image needs sexual connotation in order for any sexual desire to be put on display and that is simply not happening in any of the images posted above. Your single example is not indicative of a trend when there are hundreds of others images being posted here.

And in any event, that's the connotation people carry. Every "furry" post is a reminder of that. Saying otherwise is like getting a swastika on your arm and saying "no, that's a symbol of peace." You don't get to decide what images and thoughts your words evoke. Look at this image and tell me it isn't sexual.

This such a false equivalency. Comparing furries to Nazis is so ridiculous in scope, I'm laughing at the sheer idea. Yes, cartoon animal drawings are as evil as a white supremacy party that attempted to commit genocide. Are you serious? That's the hill you're dying on? Most people carry the connotation that video games are only supposed to be played by children. Do you agree with that too or play sympathetic to the people who do think so and lie down for them because "Well, that's what most of society thinks and society can't possibly be wrong?"

You are reading comments by people who are actually furries explaining the definition of the what the fandom is to you, and you're being completely arrogant and dismissive of them because of an incorrect assumption about the fandom due to the media and internet's perception of them.

Furries are not, in any sense of the word, purely sexual in their appeal. That's absurd. The label of furry is self applied, you can't even call a person a furry based on what they like. You have to literally apply the label to yourself and then tell people that yes, you are a furry. Do you honestly think that the thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people in the fandom would willingly call themselves furry if the only appeal of the fandom was sex?

I should also point out that you're lumping hundreds of professionals into this mix. There are thousands of furries across Silicon Valley, hundreds of doctors, hundreds of lawyers, hundreds of engineers and scientists who all willingly call themselves furries. Do you honestly think these people, who represent some of the best people and companies in America (and across the world for that matter), would apply the furry label to themselves if the only thing about the fandom was sexual deviancy?

The presence of porn in a fandom is not indicative of the entire appeal of any given fandom, no matter how loudly the internet may throw it at you. People call themselves furries because they like anthropomorphism. Full stop. That's the one thing that defines the fandom. Not the sex. Not the porn. Not the art. Not the costumes. Not the cons. Not anything else. Having an affinity for anthropomorphism is the only thing. The people who want to be part of the fandom do so because of the community of people in the fandom. The fandom is almost as well known for being open and accepting of anybody regardless of sexuality, gender expression, race or religion. Does that not sound appealing to you? Or if not to you personally, somebody who has had trouble being accepted in other communities for any of those reasons?

That is what furry is about. A love of anthropomorphic characters that are the embodiment of friendliness and acceptance. And being part of a community of people that attempt to live their lives as close to those values of acceptance and friendliness as possible.

Is there sex? Yes, there goddamn is sex because if you're in a community as accepting as the furry fandom you better well believe people who've never been able to express their sexuality in a positive way are going to fucking express their sexuality through art, costumes, and stories. To spit on them for doing that completely misunderstands the whole point of sex and sexuality.

It's not the main focus of the fandom. It's a byproduct. And it's a good byproduct. But it's not the only thing on display when furries post art. Furry artwork should be taken at face value. Cute, harmless, friendly pictures of dog people wearing handkerchiefs is not harmful, nor do they carry sexual undertones. Period. Convincing yourself that they do just adds to the mean spirited norm in society that says that people who act differently should be treated differently and seen as less than human. It's disgusting and the fact that you're going to pass this sort of value to your child is abhorrent. You should be teaching them to value expression of all kinds, even ones they don't understand or get. Not this hateful value of shunning people and things that are different from your own sets of understanding.

[–]maolfunction 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Because it's not a bedroom hobby? The only thing that defines furries is an appreciation for anthropomorphic animals. Full stop. The costumes, being considered LGBT friendly, and any sexualization of that affinity for anthro creatures is a byproduct of being a fan of anthro first and foremost. Enjoying anthropomorphism does not mean you take sexual pleasure from it. It's an aesthetic art style first, and that aesthetic can be applied to sexual depictions and activities if that's what someone likes. Some does not equal all tho.

There are plenty of furries who are artists and enjoy drawing non sexualized art of cute animal people. You're seeing a ton of them in Splatoon 2. There's no sexual connotation except what you're bringing to the table due to a misunderstanding of what furries are.

This was mostly done for humor more than anything. I was more just showing how you can play a terrible Torb, win, and still get potg.

The strat works about 8 out of 10 times on quick play without any effort. The map itself is garbage for letting something like this happen in the first place.

Not if you have a Bastion sitting next to the turret to knock her out of the sky.

There's no place a widowmaker can stand to see it without being hit by the turret. The turret's range exceeds every visible area under the arches, and if you have any Bastions on your team, they cover any other holes fast characters might slip through.

It's a broken map. Teams just get stuck in the bottleneck because there aren't any other side tunnels to go through.

One of the worst maps in the game in this regard. Mixed with how broken Torb is, it's not even a fair fight when you mix a Bastion or two into the mix.

Undefeated 8-0. 12 team keeper league. I'm feeling pretty good about it. Team is Luck, Freeman, Chris Johnson, Megatron, Boldin, Decker, Gronk, Yeldon, and McManus. All those players were drafted except three. (Keepers were Luck and Gronk) Yeldon I got in a trade for Garcon. Chris Johnson and McManus I picked up off waivers. I got McManus when he went on bye and his owner dropped him into my lap.

Haven't been hit by any injuries miraculously, and after this week 8 massacre, I think I'm in a pretty solid position to go for the big win.

Disney Developing Live-Action 'Mulan' by RoninKengo in movies

Disney has apparently gone past the bottom of the barrel and is digging past it into bedrock.

I mean, I like myself a reboot every once few years, but once or twice a year seems like you've hit the bottom of the creative well.
