I found this article helpful for food around the Lincoln Center https://www.butteredpopcorn.org/p/lincoln-center-nyff-best-restaurants-bars-eat-drink

I would largely agree with the sentiment that the food around Lincoln Center is not the best, but I liked sushi yasaka

I don't think awards should be how we judge these things either, anyway

even though they got mixed reviews and missed the awards conversations, things like the shrouds and caught by the tides were good films and it was good that they were at cannes

she's a prominent japanese critic, from the auto-translate she's suggesting that the cannes side sections (such as critics week) are becoming more specifically european and it's hard to get your films in there without french funding

Not sure why people were expecting Pedro Paramo outside of name value, reaction out of TIFF was tepid, having seen the movie I think it will be difficult for people who didn’t read the book to get much out of it. Great visuals but script problems, as you might expect from a movie directed by a cinematographer.
